What Paul did pre injury was just godly but he got robbed by Kobe in 08.
Blake I see as an MVP candidate if he can clear a few flaws in his game.
Who is more likely to win the MVP,I see this as fair because although Paul is better atm Griffin hasn't hit his prime yet.
Also an additional question.Am I the only one who thinks Paul is playing just as well post injury,his stat drops have been purely contextual to season IMO and he is still the same player.

Re: Blake or CP3:Who's more likely to win an MVP
CP3.
CP3 = QB
BG = TE/WR
usual suspects for heisman/mvp are QBs/RBs. SG/SF = RB.
Of course you get the occasional WR candidates, but unless BG has a 20ppg/10rpg/5apg/1.5spg or 1.5bpg stat line, good luck.

Re: Blake or CP3:Who's more likely to win an MVP
I think there is a chance both can win MVP but right now I lean towards CP3. BG has to improve a bit more before I am convinced that he is an MVP level player.
As for the CP3 question. He is certainly worse post injury but his last two seasons were his 3rd and 4th best seasons which is a good sign. Its a mixture of learning how to play post injury, having more motivation(less motivation on a mediocre Hornets team) and having better teams. I think next season will be his 3rd best season overall, maybe 2nd best. 09 was an amazing season but he got injured carrying the Hornets and couldn't bring it in the postseason.

CP3 really isn't worse,he's more passive and although I don't blame him I still feel he should be playing more aggressively because we know he can certainly take over games with the best of them.He could average 18/10 next season easily IMO and probably will.
Blake on the other hand is gonna be in an era dominated by Rose and Durant,both whom are not near the level of Lebron at all.Blake can average the 20/10 and with the help of Doc I think he can average either 1.5 bpg or spg.
He can certainly play well but cannot create his shot with the best of them yet (I'm not saying he can't I'm saying he can't at an elite level) so Paul will play a role in him winning the MVP until he starts to be able to just take the ball down low and score which he's showing huge signs of already

Re: Blake or CP3:Who's more likely to win an MVP
^His passivity has to do with adjusting his playstyle post injury. He can't play as aggressive as he did before since he is less explosive and it will increase the risk of injury. He can play like that in short spurts but he cannot sustain it for a whole season. I don't consider him significantly worse than 08-09 Paul but he is a little bit worse but thats not really an insult. It just shows how dominant he was in 08-09.
He can get 18/10 easily if he plays more minutes. Per 36 last season he averaged 18.3/10.5.
With better shooters I can see him getting 18-19/11 if he plays 36 minutes or if he feels like scoring more 20/10 even.

Blake Griffin, if CP3 didn't come here.. if nobody else joined him. If B Diddy was still starting.. haha. BG then, but right now defintely CP3.

But BG isn't near his prime yet which I think makes this interesting
And Woodsanity maybe it's because I never got to see the 08/09 season.

Re: Blake or CP3:Who's more likely to win an MVP
In order for blake to get an MVP, CP3 would have to miss a significant amount of time and Blake would have to carry...because general consensus is, CP3 makes Griff what he is....no matter how stupid that consensus is.

I'm saying by the time they both retire

I've always found that funny when people think that. If only they looked at Griffin's numbers when CP3 wasn't here, numbers wise CP3 has made him worse haha.

If BG had B Diddy as starting PG he would have no chance at MVP simply because you need to win a lot of games to be in consideration.

Sure if you look at raw numbers. His scoring efficiency has gone up and his PER and w/48 are higher than in his rookie season. The only real regression is his rebounding. Scoring numbers are around the same per 36. Slightly lower volume and higher efficiency but this should be expected since he is on a much better team with another superstar.

Re: Blake or CP3:Who's more likely to win an MVP
Probably CP as he's the better and more impactful player right now, but in the future, if Blake continues to improve and the team continues to play at a high level, he will have his name pop up in there too.
