Nelson Cruz's representatives came to the Texas Rangers with a four-year, $56 million extension offer this past winter, but the team declined.
Cruz, who is currently serving a suspension for his role in the Biogenesis scandal, is expected to report to the team's Instructional League sometime next week. The Rangers haven't guaranteed him a roster spot when he is eligible to return.
He performed well prior to the suspension, but news that Texas turned down the $56 million offer may not bode well for his future with the club.
