OT: the One...Mayweather, Jr. vs Alvarez

Post#1 » by Ricky ROY Rubio » Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:01 pm

Any other huge fanatics out here? This is Boxing's biggest event in six years because of the main and co-main events. I have money riding on Matthysse and Alvarez at the MGM grand. The scene is crazy, over ten thousand people just to see the boxers get weighed!!!

P.s. Texas A&M vs Albama is also going to be bananas

I want to see the Danny Garcia fight instead, but I see PBF getting a UD.

Hyped for this. I'm a very casual boxing fan but I've loved big fights my entire life - nothing beats the drama. My uneducated opinion is that Alvarez is about two years too green to pull this one out. Floyd's gonna stop him in the later rounds.

Don't even know if I'm gonna watch TBH. I'm tired of all these fights where you don't get a good feeling that the guy fighting Floyd has a legit shot. Ortiz, Marquez and Canelo just don't look like they could get the job done. Now if we were talking about Packie 2 years ago, that would have been a fight. Unfortunately, Manny looks like he's fallen off hard.

Yeah Pacman aged overnight. Canelo could beat Floyd but as mentioned I think he is just to green. Mayweather is annoying but he is damn good and crazy smart in the ring. When he loses I think it will be a bad fight where he just looks old.

Agreed. After the Ortiz fight I learned the most important lesson in boxing.

I have respect for Mayweather, but damn I want him to lose badly. With that said, I think the match goes the distance with Mayweather getting the decision.

i think ppl sayinf Pacman aged overnight are way off... he easily beat Bradley in the worst decision in boxing history... and he was pounding Marquez better than he ever did in the previous three fights but got too greedy and got caught by a blind lucky shot..

Bad bet op. Mayweather is going to win by judges decision. The only way anyone will ever beat Mayweather is by KO. Unfortunately no one can touch him. He's a surgeon, he's gonna go in there, make you miss, counter with quick combos and just repeat all night. He's not gonna reach and go for a KO or get caught up in the excitement of the crowd, Mayweather knows what to do, he's a pro and an amazing boxer.

the problem is pacman's style of fighting leads himself open for a blind lucky shot. Mayweather would toy with Pacman...even in when pacman was still good

Mayweather is my 2nd favorite athlete behind Rose. This should be a good one.

I think money is starting to show signs of slowing down. Canelo has to press the entire fight and hope that one of those power punches gets in. But that is easier said then done since money still has the best defense in boxing.

I just want to see a good fight, in my area its $75 to order this fight in HD.

very casual fan here... I didn't realize that this was ACTUALLY a big fight.... thought it was just media hype or whatever... maybe because I've never heard of Alvarez. Anyhow... hope everyone who's been waiting for a big fight enjoys it.

I'm going with Cinnamon. Because not only does he figure to be stronger, It should be nice to have an undispiuted champion who isn't a clown. So going with my heart. But Floyd at the top of his game may be unbeatable. At least he is fighting a real opponent though. I do appreciate it.

All accurate up until that point.

But I think Mayweather is gonna take the fight to Canelo more than you would think. When he was hitting the heavy bags he had a heavy focus on body work, knowing that these guys who dehydrate themselves 2-3 weight classes traditionally can be vulnerable to the body(And Canelo's stamina already isn't all that).

I don't know, this will be tough for Floyd. I think he survives but I don't feel strongly about it.
