I will focus on that this is a minor .... not uncommon

the postitive side is that the younger players will get alot of time.. improve for post season!

Im actually fine with this.
As long as they fix the problem and Westbrook can come back healthy.

But i kind of view this as a positive. This will give Lamb and Jackson more minutes and experience.
Lamb will have a chance to shine as the third option. IMO i view him as the exact same player as Kevin Martin except a bit better defensively. But the guy is a young pure shooter and should easily be able to average 14+ with RWB out. Jackson is a guy who i want to see starting as well. This guy looks like he can be a mix of Harden/Westbrook. Maybe not as high of a ceiling or as talented, but i think he can fill that void nicely with some more play time under his belt.

Interesting... the first thing I thought when I saw it was "Good, Jackson and Lamb needed some heavy minutes early", then I come on here and pretty much everyone has said the same thing. Maybe we're just all optimists?

I think another thing to realize is that every other contender in the west is rearranging pieces too other than the Spurs. Memphis has a new coach, LAC has new players and a new coach, the Lakers aren't around, Minny's getting back together from injury, the Nuggets are completely different, and GS is integrating new guys as well. It sucks Russ is hurt, but better now than the playoffs. Maybe we see something from the young guys and it helps later too, but just want him to get back. I became an OKC fan for KD, but I think Russ is my favorite player now, love his game too.

We need Perkins to be out as well for that to have a chance to happen.

I don't think we're being overly optimistic. If we're not going to better that 60wins mark. might as well know it from the season start and give developmental minutes to players who MIGHT help us in the playoff.

Its unfortunate that Russ has to get injured for Brooks to get Lamb in the lineup considering he is essential to the success of the Thunder IMO but he will get his chance now. Basketball is a game of confidence and its hard for him to have any when you coach sends to you D league and gives you no minutes. I swear I wonder why Brooks still has his job sometimes.

Brooks is the worst coach in the league. If we can get anyone half decent to coach this team, we will be in the finals every year. I mean think about it, playing Perkins & fisher for a considerable amount of time. That is just ridiculous.

Russ injury and Lamb playing time don't have a correlation.

Martin and Liggins being gone have a direct correlation with Lamb getting playing time now.

Considering that Reggie was suppose to be 6th man this year according to you then Westbrook being out moves Reggie to the starting PG which opens up the 6th man roll to Lamb so yeah Westbrooks injury has everything to do with Lambs early season playing time......

You're right, the fact that 2 players who played above lamb in the depth chart and are no longer here, has little to nothing to do with lambs early pre season burn.

Of course Westbrook being out and Reggie playing starting PG instead of backup PG are why lamb is is playing more min at SG!
