Collison > Bledsoe?

Post#1 » by theFRANCHISE » Thu Oct 24, 2013 7:38 pm

I've been watching a lot of the preseason games and so far Darren Collison has really impressed me, surprised me actually. I remember him putting up great numbers when he was backing up CP3 in new orleans. Bledsoe was good in clippers uniform, great on defense, highlight plays etc. I feel Collison is better fit and smarter player.

His offense is for sure a whole lot smoother and his defense is not that bad. I love the fact he is aggressive yet knows how to pick his spots and create his own.

After these couple of years with just one scoring option off the bench its a boost to have another guy. Once the bench bigs figure it out which combo works the best we will be golden.

Kinda early for that sort of claim considering its only preseason . The thing about guys with speed and the preseason is can they adjust to when rotation players are going all out as opposed to preseason when you get a bunch of deep bench fodder

Bledsoe defense > Collison defense

Collision offense > Bledsoe offense

Bledsoe potential >> Collison potential

As Clipper fans we were aware that it was an offense to defense switch, but also that Collison is the player he is, while Bledsoe still has room for growth as a player.

I would trade Bledsoe for Collison if we were talking about the backup role.

I would not trade Bledsoe for Collison if we were talking about the point guard of our future.

I miss Bledsoe and it's going to be bittersweet watching him flourish in Phoenix. Bledsoe is now getting an opportunity to be the man (well, sort of since Dragic is technically the PG). He's basically 2 years younger, and is out to prove himself on a bigger scale. Collison has had his opportunities to do so, but has also had some missteps along the way.

I'm glad to have Collison coming off of the bench as a supersub. I didn't expect it, and he's lessened the blow of losing Bledsoe for this season. The problem is that he's going to want both a bigger role and more money at the end of the season. He's made mention that he left more lucrative offers on the table to try to win a championship here. Barring disaster/injury, he's going to be looking elsewhere next summer.
