The San Antonio Spurs have exercised their fourth-year options on forward Kawhi Leonard and guard Cory Joseph.

Both players are now signed through the 2014-15 season.

In two seasons with the Spurs, Leonard has appeared in 122 games, averaging 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.49 steals in 32.8 minutes.

Now entering his third season in San Antonio, Joseph has averaged 3.2 points, 1.5 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 11.5 minutes in a total of 57 games during his first two NBA campaigns.

Not really a surprise for either guy. But now its time to start talking extension with both guys. Does Joesph get one? How much to do think Kawhi is worth?

I don't think Joseph gets an extension, unless it's really cheap.

On the other hand, Kawhi will get one for sure. And SA better be ready to give him a big contract. I think he gets 45-50m quite easily.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Agree. There's really no reason to lock Joseph up that quickly unless we're talking about 1.5 mil a season for 5 years. Let him prove his worth and let the market dictates his market value.

Kawhi, I hope the team and him work out something so that he doesn't hit Free Agency. My gut says Kawhi can get some insanely big offers around the league. I can really see him get 11 mil a year from the Spurs, and if he test the market, perhaps even 13 million a year.

Return to San Antonio Spurs
