What's the Secret to the Suns medical Staff?

Post#1 » by Cyrusman122000 » Sat Dec 28, 2013 9:28 pm

So through the years I've heard nothing but positive, and great things about the Suns Medical Staff. Apparently their the best in the business. Grant Hill was healthy all 5 years he was their ironically, same with Shaq. Steve Nash was healthy his whole time in PHX despite his back issues. Also I've heard these guys all comment on how their medical staff is better than any others.

first and foremost it's the climate. and this is really old news, the healing qualities of the southwest's climate have been promoted for over a century now, even 100 years ago there were already sanatoriums. if you live in new york and have arthritis, just throw your meds out the window and move to arizona. it's the desert, not the medical staff. you think suns medical staff would have fixed grant hill in the nyc winter? no, never.

Surprised phoenix isn't a bigger draw for big name players. Wonder if they can fix Bynum's toxic personality.

Yep. Their medical database is its own infrastructure.

I doubt that's the reason. Otherwise the same would apply to the lakers, clippers, rockets, spurs and heat. Those are all warm cities as well..

if i were to build the perfect basketball franchise, i would have: daryl morey as head gm, prokhorov as owner, 3 apprentices from the spurs front offices, greg popovich as coach, scott brooks as a talent evaluator and the suns' medical staff

to add to op's list of rejuvenated players for the suns:

michael redd (who would've thought he would be able to play again after his bucks stint)
jermaine o'neal (before going to phx, he looked pretty done in boston)
amare stoudemire (he was still playing well after all the injuries he sustained)

it's also important to know that every rejuvenated ex-sun player had lingering injuries AFTER they left phoenix

I'm pretty sure Shaq talked about it in his last book and how differently the medical team do things there. They're definitely a cut above the rest.

From what it seems like, they specialize in prevention as opposed to damage control.
