Despite a recent flurry of long-term extensions, Chase Headley is unlikely to discuss a possible contract with the San Diego Padres until after the season.
"It's not fair to the guys in this clubhouse to have anybody's attention focused on anything but trying to win and trying to do your best for the team," Headley said. "I don't want to put my foot down and say nothing's gonna happen, but at this point it certainly seems that we'll table these until the end of the season."
Headley, who turns 30 in May, admitted that his own struggles have made it difficult to find a common ground in extension talks.
