Thank goodness. Unless there is a pending trade or signing, you've got to think its Mune coming back.

Wilner: "could be Kawasaki, but I doubt it"

Speculate and celebrate!

EDIT: I don't Getz it. Why not Kawasaki?

Yep... they managed to go with someone almost as useless at the plate as Goins, but without the top end defense.

Good job guys.

You just knew he was going to get called up for when we visit Kansas City, right? (former team)

Roster management continues and will always be a problem with AA running the show unfortunately.

Had to be done. I hate Getz, but he's still a better hitter than Goins.

Chris Getz has absolutely 0 power.

3 HRs in almost 1,400 plate appearances.

Total slap hitter. Watched too much of him in KC. Shouldn't be a MLB starter on any self-respecting MLB team, but neither should Goins.

Kawasaki says hello. Utterly ridiculous AA, this man will not contribute anything offensively.

Because there's nothing wrong with starting a season without one single major league caliber 2nd baseman.

Izturis was good enough and that had nothing to with what I posted.

Getz numbers are much better than everybody's hero they want up instead.

Glad Goins is in optioned. Guy needs to work on his hitting in Buffalo and not the big leagues. I have been saying it for a couple of weeks now. Getz cannot do any worse than Goins. Would have preferred Kawasaki though. Hopefully Sierra is the next one shipped out. Guy does not belong here right now.

Then why even bother calling fans whiny? Some people might go to ball games casually to enjoy the game, which is fine, but some people also care about their favourite teams and want to see the best results possible. With the way AA has been handling this team, fans have every right to be annoyed by the smallest mistake. This move is a non-issue. At the end of the day, Getz and Kawasaki are both replacement level players, but at least Goins should've been sent down when Kawasaki was sent down.

Wow, Getz has a .720 OPS in AAA in a small sample size. How wrong was I?

I don't get this move.

1. The Jays said that they didn't need Goins to hit, they just needed him to field his position like he did last year. His defensive value projects to be pretty much exactly the same as it was in his 34 game stint last year. I know his offense was horrifically bad, but they had to expect that.

2. We're replacing his with Chris Goins.
