Spurs guard Manu Ginobili finished third in the voting for Sixth Man of the Year, well behind winner Jamal Crawford of the Clippers and runner-up Taj Gibson of Chicago.

Ginobili continued to play at a high level even as his 37th birthday approaches, averaging 12.3 points and 4.3 assists in 23 minutes per game as the leader of the Spurs’ “Foreign Legion” bench unit.

Ginobili also shot 47 percent — an improvement of more than four points from last season — with a 20.0 player efficiency rating, the ninth time in the past 10 seasons he reached 20. Among various other advanced measures, he finished sixth in the league in Regularized Adjusted Plus Minus, ahead of even MVP Kevin Durant, with the Spurs’ best net rating at plus 12.9 points per 100 possessions.

20013-14 Sixth Man of the Year voting

1. Jamal Crawford, Clippers (57 first-place votes)
2. Taj Gibson, Chicago (49)
3. MANU GINOBILI, SPURS (9)
4. Markieff Morris, Phoenix (5)
5. Reggie Jackson, Oklahoma City (4)

It was really a two horse race between Taj and Crawford but i'm to see that Manu's bounce back season didn't go completely unnoticed.

All that probably matters to him is playing better in the playoffs this year compared to last I imagine. I'm glad he got some notice though.
