#1 or #3 and #10 which would you want? (POLL)

It has been too many threads. #1 for #3 and #10. #3 and #10 for 1. And the debate between them is split into forty places.

So, which do you like better? Why?

Embiid #1 seems most favorable. Big who can protect the rim is so necessary these days.

With this draft being very deep I could see why people go 3 and 10, but I'd take number 1 to grab Embiid. Guys like him don't grow on trees.

In one of the so-called 40 threads I said the #1 and I'll stick to that for 2 reasons:

#1: As a Kings fan I know all too well what happens when you have the Nth pick and there are "N guys". In the Kings case the draft was considered 10 players deep and the Kings had the 10th pick. The 9th pick was Noah and the 10th was ... Spencer Hawes.

What's my point here? That just because you can get a guy in the tier doesn't mean that there isn't an obscene amount of value in being able to pick which player in that tier you get.

#2: On a more specific level, I'm not all that enamored with the 10th pick in this draft. I think that'll end up better than most drafts, but at the end of the day you're probably getting yourself a fringe starter--which is valuable but not game changing unless you're a "stars and scrubs" team like the Heat (that is, a team where a fringe start on a bargain salary would be valuable--something that a team in the lottery just isn't)

People said take Derrick Williams and Brandon Knight, they would produce more than Kyrie. Quality > Quantity.

The guys that should be available at 10 aren't worth giving up the guy you want at #1.

From a Philly perspective, I'm happy at 3. First off, I don't have a lot of confidence in the FOs in front of us. So i'm thinking that the guy that drops to us is probably the guy we wanted the whole time :) All three guys have the potential to be such a good fit with what we have, that I'm really not sweating it too much.

Next, I really think that Philly pulls off a deal to move up in the draft. Practically every team from 5-9 has talked about a desire to move their pick for a veteran. When they realize that the 7 pick doesn't land them KLove, I think they will be willing to take a guy like Thad along with moving back. So IMO for a Philly fan it is not 3 &10, but the hope of 3&6-8.

I voted 1 Wiggins. Which if he is there at 3 means I was wrong I suppose, but I do like the certainty.

Going to be curious how it shakes out in terms of he distribution between all the options.

Agree with this, plus the Cavs already have a very young team to begin with.

If Embiid falls to #3, do the Sixers even consider Embiid? Could a Noel/Embiid frontcourt work?

Who cares. Embiid is a much better prospect than whoever is left at 4 as well as Noel. You take BPA, then hope either Noel or Embiid or BOTH hit and then go from there.

You don't worry about fit on the worst team in basketball.

I voted Embiid, no affiliation.

If you changed the poll to "#2 or #3 and #10" I would gladly take the Parker and Gordon package. Wiggins is probably the smart choice for #1 since he makes the biggest impact, but no GM would pass up on Embiids potential. You draft Olajuwon over Jordan EVERY SINGLE TIME. Most of the time you will wind up wrong, but nobody faults you for it.

Embiid has back issues, questions about durability in centers particularly are always substantial.
Wiggins ain't LeBron, so take the risks and go with Embiid.

I voted equal, but want to say "it depends". For Philly, its probably 3/10, as they have no real top end talent other than MCW. Thad Young is the only other guy on that team who's an NBA player, so they could use 2 shots at pretty good talent, and any of the top 3 this year would be great. For Cleveland, I'd say 1 as they have the talent elsewhere somewhat, but could use the best fit and the best shot at who they want.

You take the 1, get your scouts, coaches, gm, etc and make the best move you can.

Never look back.

As a Sixers fan, I'd rather have #1 (Embiid) and would give up anything short of MCW and Noel to get him. With that said, if we stay at #3 and #10 we can still draft some very good players. Like Foshan said, maybe we can use the #10 pick to move up a few spots in return for taking back a bad contract and then perhaps Cleveland would be compelled to trade the #1 for #3 and #7 or #8.

3 and 10 Hinkie said he is confident with the top 5 players he has on his big board so I wouldn't be surprised if he trades down with Utah or Orlando and more picks and He was stoked with 10th being conveyed to us so I believe He will get 2 awesome players regardless. Vonleh could be the next Bosh and Exum could be the next Dwayne wade no one knows Parker could be Melo Wiggins Paul George Embiid duncan or they could all flop

#1 vs #3/#10 over the last 20 years (clear winners in bold)

2013 - Bennett vs Porter/McCollum
2012 - Davis vs Beal/Rivers
2011 - Irving vs Kanter/Fredette
2010 - Wall vs Favors/George
2009 - Griffin vs Harden/Jennings
2008 - Rose vs Mayo/Lopez
2007 - Oden vs Horford/Hawes
2006 - Bargnani vs Morrison/Sene
2005 - Bogut vs DWill/Bynum
2004 - Howard vs Ben Gordon/Luke Jackson
2003 - LeBron vs Melo/Jarvis Hayes
2002 - Yao vs Dunleavy/Caron Butler
2001 - Kwame vs Pau Gasol/Joe Johnson

IMO 9 times #1 was clearly better, 5 times #3/#10 was clearly better, and 6 times it was comparable or undecided.
