Anyone else feel as if they took last 4 years for granted?
Does anyone else feel guilty? As in, do you feel as if you took the last 4 years for granted? I personally do and wish I gave it more attention. Now, I wish I would have made the time to watch the random Tuesday night game against the Bucks. I wish I would've gone to more regular season games. I wish I would've shelled out $50-60 to go to more playoff games (at least 1st/2nd round) in the 400 section. Man, it sucks. I wish I would've paid more attention during the blowout first series against Charlotte. These last four years have been amazing. What an era. Starting to hit me.

Same here man. I wasn't able to go to any of the parades because I was out of town. Wanted to go to multiple playoff games and MAYBE a Finals game but ended up only attending ONE playoff game the entire 4 years.. Gonna miss the Wade-LeBron fast breaks probably the most. And just how fun that team was in general. Sucks.

Re: Anyone else feel as if they took last 4 years for grante
Man, don't even remind me lol.
I left Miami for Gainesville in August of 2010. For various reasons, once I came up here, I was rarely ever able to head back down to Miami and visit. After December of 2011, I didn't even go down once until the summer of 2013, right after we won those Finals against the Spurs. Then after that I didn't go down again until this past June, while the Heat were still in San Antonio.
I got to attend ONE GAME at the AAA during this era. One regular season game, in December of 2011. I, of course, followed the team as closely as I could, and always did my best to catch the big games (rarely ever missed a postseason one), but my life has been busy up here. I left the comforts of home to go fend for myself, grow up, etc. With that comes a lot more responsibility, a lot more devotion of my time to real-world things, that forced my attention away from being able to catch the regular season games nightly. You know, sometimes I'd just come home tired from work or be swamped with HW, and I wouldn't even think to turn the TV on and find the game. So I'd have stretches where I'd be following the team through this message board, highlights, and the internet.
The saddest part about all this for me is that now, in August, I'm moving back down to Miami. I was gearing up to start going to games, start making up for lost time. I was looking forward to being in town, to living in the city while this team was chasing history, to being around for the experience. When LeBron leaving started to become a real possibility, this became one of my biggest fears, that someday I'd look back and wish I'd been able to see the team live more. Now it's happened. When I look back on all the reasons why I grew to dislike Gainesville so much in my four years here, now this might top the list.
For what it's worth, as long as we still have Bosh and Wade, I'm not letting that chance slip away.

Not at all.
I watched every single game and enjoyed the lows and the highs without criticising my team.

I definitely didn't, and i watched nearly every game of the Big 3 era and all of the 27 game win streak. We had a magical team and people will come to appreciate it in the coming years if they don't have the perspective and presence of mind to now.
i like the fact you throw in you didn't criticize them. lol. that just makes you a sheep.

Why? We went to the finals 4 straight years, we only lost to the Mavs and Spurs over 16 straight playoff series. We had an historical 4 years. What is there to criticisize unless you're a pedant who thinks that every player, every night is going to be perfect and the opposition not.

Re: Anyone else feel as if they took last 4 years for grante
Yeah. Even though I watched nearly every game leading up to this season, I still feel like I took things for granted. This year since I started college, got a girl friend, made a bigger effort to hang out with friends when they came back into town from their respective colleges, I didn't see as many games as I would have liked. I still sat down and watched games, but as the season wore on and the above things started really happening, my pace of game viewing fell a small bit. In my mind, I justified this also with the fact that the team was CLEARLY mailing it in/coasting on certain nights. So on some of those nights where I did not get to watch games against the likes of the Bucks/Kings/other lower tier teams, I honestly did not think I was missing much. But boy was I wrong. The night that LBJ scored 61, I was considering not watching the game due to homework load/needing to study for a test. But I sat through it anyway, and was rewarded, like the rest of you were, with getting to see that performance.
Honestly, my biggest regret was NOT being able to go to the 2013 championship parade after I had went the previous year. I was not able to go due to an early morning college prep course/seminar that ran through that week. In the back of my mind, I remember saying to myself that I could regret it in the future. But on the other hand, I was so convinced that we were going to three peat, that I figured I could go again next year when history was achieved. Of course, this was before last season started, where we all got to witness the aging/decline of the overall roster that transpired.
So yes, I do feel like I took these four years for granted. I also did not expect LBJ to leave us so soon. But, c'est la vie I suppose.

Re: Anyone else feel as if they took last 4 years for grante
I do not feel like I took them for granted.
This will come off as douchey perhaps... but I would scoff at my friends that would say "Ehh.. the regular season is boring, I don't watch regular season games.. I'm just waiting for the playoffs". If there was any way possible to see every single game, even if it's against the Timberwolves or Bobcats or whatever, I would watch it because that was something that I truly relished every second of. As a fan since the Rice/Seikaly/Smith days, I never, in my wildest dreams ever thought that the Heat would be this kind of juggernaut and be amongst if not THE favorite to win the chip every year. I never, in my wildest, wettest dreams would ever think that Lebron James would put on a Miami Heat uniform and play for us, let alone Chris Bosh too... we got both of them without losing our own superstar in Dwyane Wade. It was all so unprecedented. There was no way I would miss a game unless there were circumstances that would simply prevent me to watch. I watched as many games as I could, because I knew.. one day.. it could be over, and I'll look back and be like "****.. I wish I could've watched them play together more than I did". I didn't want to feel that regret, so I'm glad I obsessively watched every game.

Yes, and no. I've been a heat fan since 04. When the big 3 formed, I told myself I was gonna do everything I could to enjoy this. So I probably missed a total of 4 or 5 games the past 4 seasons, sometimes watching on some real crappy feeds. Every time the Heat came to LA, I went to watch them against the clippers (lakers tix are just way too pricey). The only thing I regret is, I came to Miami this past season for an interview, this was my first and only trip to Miami (thus far). I always wanted to watch a home game live. With my unfortunate luck, however, the weekend I flew to Miami was ASG weekend.

Nah, watched almost every game (missed a few last season, just couldn't squeeze them in anymore), but overall enjoyed the entire run.

I feel like the rest of the country did. What the heat accomplished was historical but everyone was so busy hatin, they never appreciated it.

like I said in my previous post was lucky enough to be in Miami during the championship game against OKC and managed to score a ticket...can only guess how many aussies got to witness lebrons first title and wades second in person was the best night of my life by far!
Also went and watched heats first game at New York after lebron signed with us aswell as clevelands first game in Miami....anyways these past 4 years have been amazing for myself and excited for the future

I'm from Spain and the time differences makes it difficult for me, however I watched the 90% of games from 12-13 season and I was totally addicted to this team, last year I had to go to college on the mornings so I couldn't watch too many games that I'd have loved to see...
Now this year I'll have college on afternoons so I'll be able to watch games again, but no big three now.. makes me a bit sad. However I still feel excited to see what Bosh & Wade can show all of us.

I'm from Slovenia and one of my biggest wishes was to just pack up one day and leave for Miami to attend a big 3 game at AAA. I thought I still had at least 2 years if not more to fulfill my wish. Boy was I wrong, eh?

I've been on this roller coaster since 2004, the lows, the highs, the sudden curves and have loved every minute of it. In other words, no been here before him and will be here (hopefully) when the Heat raise that trophy again.

Not at all I embraced all of it and knew this was something special we were witnessing seeing a possible goat play for our city. Only a true heat fan would not have took it for granted

I never got to see the big 3 live, that is one big regret I have. Living in Cali I had opportunities but never went to any of the games.
Watched all the games with the NBA pass though. Definitely didnt take the first few years for granted. Last year though, just didnt feel the same, felt like the team didnt care about the regular season until the playoffs almost started.
I did see the big 3 during their rookie years when they were all on the Rookie Challenge team at Staples Center. Still remember that game.
