The match will feature two Spanish teams Real Madrid and Sevilla, the winners of the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League and the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League respectively. It will be played at the Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on August 12th.

Sevilla lost their best player so this will be a close one.

Brilliant that the match is in Wales. I always enjoy the Super Cup. Hope Sevilla make it a close one-and should as they are league rivals. I'm quite excited for La Liga this season.

Question - Do you lot consider the UEFA Super Cup to be a major trophy? I do - as you have to win the CL/EL to qualify, and because the quality of the XIs are generally exceptional. However, I really don't consider other one-offs like the Community Shield or the DFL Supercup to be major (Wigan-Man Utd...).
To Dare Is To Do? 13 League Titles. You've only got 2.

Always feels like football's finally close to coming back by the time the Super Cup rolls around. I look forward to it for that reason, even if the game often feels like a friendly.

only titles I consider major are the domestic leagues and the champions league :dontknow:
Like the club world cup, it's one of those competitions where it's hard to get there, but once you're there you don't do much more to win the next trophy.

Glad the match is in Wales, Bale should do well with the home crowd.

The timing before the start of the regular seasons pretty much shows that this Cup like all the others you mentioned is just a competitive friendly game.

Depends on the lineups and effort.

Nacho also jumped down from the stands to go celebrate with his teammates on the field, but as he isn’t as well known as Xabi, he was detained by security on his way back to the stands. As everyone’s attention was focused elsewhere, no one even noticed he was missing. As such, Nacho missed the rest of the overtime, including the last two goals.

:rofl2:

Poor Nacho

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.
