Erazem Lorbek

Post#1 » by Kenneth23 » Thu Aug 28, 2014 8:58 am

In 2012 the Spurs came close to signing Erazem Lorbek but he opted to stay with Barcelona.
But now Barcelona and Lorbek have parted ways en he's a free agent now. Does anyone of you guys know if the Spurs are still interested in Lorbek?

No idea. But I will admit this is an odd time for him to be bought out. We still have a roster spot so anything is possible.

I think Barca gave up on him rather than he asked to leave to pursue a deal with the NBA. He's 30 and has had a lot of injuries, namely knee problems the last two years. He was pretty underwhelming for Barca when he did play. I'd be pretty upset if the Spurs picked him over Baynes, plus kept Ayers. Green, Davis, and Cotton look pretty good compared to other possibilities. Davis in particular was a summer league beast, I believe he was the leading rebounder and an SDSU alum. I'd still prefer to see a true 3, but I think Anderson is going to be thrown in as a sort of point forward. That I find pretty worrisome as the 3 can be a difficult position to guard.

Yeah i've heard it both ways as well and your probably right. Despite all the injuries the guys got/had talent i'd still like to see him get a shot, even on a non-guaranteed deal.
