David Silva believes Manchester City needs to defeat Chelsea on Sunday to remain in contention to win the Premier League.
City has already dropped five points in their last two games after losing to Stoke and drawing with Arsenal.
"It is early in the season, there is a long way to go, and we know in the Premier League that anything can happen," said Silva. "But we need to win on Sunday because otherwise the gap would be getting too big between the clubs."
