Greg Roman

Well, like I told my brother during the game, I wanted Roman fired immediately after the game, win, lose, or draw. And it still hasnt been done. Isnt it time he gets shown the door? Play calling for the most part again in the first half, was inexcusable. And some in the second half as well. Classic example, Gore gashes the defense for 7 yards on 1st down and on 2nd and 3 he calls pass and Kap gets a pick 6. Now part of it is on Kap too, but the play calling certainly did not help. In the second half, we started running more consistently, meaning on at least back to back plays and the results speak for themselves. The OL is built to run block, period. Iupati for example has never been great in pass protection anyway. And the same can be said for Anthony Davis, though he has improved in that area. Harbaugh needs to fire Roman, end of story.

Doubt it will ever happen while Harb is still here.

Yep, so more inconsistent offense, clock management and timeout issues. Joy.

I have a problem with your example. For years many of us fans would rage that we would run on 2nd & 3 get stuffed and complain why didn't we throw there. Now when we do it and failed some are complaining about the call. Complain about the execution not the call is how I see it.

Well things are a bit different now. Our OL is among the best in the league in run blocking - but you have to stick with the running game long enough throughout the game to establish it consistently. Look no further than yesterday's game. Roman's pass heavy game plans cost us at Arizona (Gore and Hyde combined for only 9 carries) and against the Bears. We had the Bears down 17-0 and all we had to do was start pounding them with Gore and Hyde and it would've wore them out. And dont even start me on the Super Bowl against the Ravens. 2nd and goal at the 5, the Ravens D is gasping for air, AND their best DL Haloti Ngata is out, and what does Roman do? Instead of going jumbo formation and pounding them with Gore at least two more times, he calls 3 straight pass plays. The dude seriouly needs to go...You play and coach to the strenghth of your personnel. And this team's strength is run blocking ability of the OL and the RBs. That sets the tone for everything else.
