CHRIS BORLAND

I'd say he had a good debut last night. 2 tackles and 2 passes defensed. And from what everyone on the defense has been saying, he has a very sound knowledge of the system. His work ethic needs no intro...Looking like another very good value pick by Baalke. The 2014 class overall has been productive thus far. Ward, Hyde, and Lynch in particular have looked good. Last night we got to see Borland and Dontae Johnson too. Next year hopefully Brandon Thomas steps right in at LG which I expect will be vacated by Iupati - although Looney has flashed enough potential to contend too. And also Bruce Ellington hopefully gets an expanded role....As for 2013 class, Reid obviously has been a good fin at the FS spot...McDonald will be good - I still wish he got first career TD last night (thanks again Vernon), and Tank and Dial has shown some good skills in preseason, so they are the future. Looking good in Ninerland with or without Harbs next year!

With Willis likely out this week, we are going to have to have Borland step it up again against the Broncos. So far, so good with him though.
