A legitimately elite rebounder on both ends. Doesn't protect the rim but protects the paint well with strong man defense, solid rotations, and being a dirty enforcer. Has an OK midrange shot. Commits far too many turnovers until Riley comes in. Brute at PF.
Honestly, there is nobody like Charles Oakley in today's NBA.

The Charles Oakleys, Rick Mahorns and Anthony Masons of today are all busy shooting 3s and trying to be face up scorers

Udonis Haslem was the closest thing in recent years, but this is obviously a 'poor man's' comparison.
I feel like I'm reaching too much if I bring Taj into the conversation; David West sometimes reminds me of Oakley but only small elements of his game.
Eh. I tried.

There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Chuck hayes when he was at his best maybe? If you ignore the lack of a jumper.
Dejuan blair and udonis are somewhat similar. I could see okc's rookie mitch mcgary turn into a comparable player. Smart, hustle, good rebounding, strong, good passer, decent mid range jumper and very physical style of play.

David West is the only guy close IMO and he still isn't a good enough rebounder to merit.
He has the elbow jumper, the defensive intensity and the enforcer quality though

Serge Ibaka? He's a little too athletic and not enough of a brawler though.

Yeah I was going to say David West as well but his rebounding isn't close.
investigate Adam Silver

That was my other idea. More of a rim protector athlete than a brute force guy though. The jumper is great though

Ha! I was randomly having this conversation with somebody just a couple of weeks ago, and coming to the same conclusions as many people here. There really isn't one. Kurt Thomas and Udonis Haslem were kind of the two last of that breed, and they were poor man versions even in their primes. Give Reggie Evans a jumpshot maybe.

Draymond Green is the spread offense version of Oakley
Green is an exceptional rebounder for his position and only needs minutes to reach elite per game numbers
Physical able to guard and punish multiple positions
Can spread the floor, post smaller players and blow by bigger players.

i tend to agree. the closest is probably david west... but he is a bit more offensively talented while not as good on the glass. both are kind of enforces.
outside of west, no one is really close. not to say oakley was some elite player, but you really dont see rebounding beasts who mix it up down low, play super physical but who could also pass and had super high bbiqs
