Defense/Rotation

Post#1 » by Alex36199 » Fri Nov 21, 2014 4:42 am

Our defensive strategy needs to be tweaked... Now. 3 after 3 after 3 for every team every time. It's ridiculous. And that's mostly on the coaches. I don't want Granger in the rotation. He's done, and we would benefit more, now and for the future, if we play Ennis in the backup 3 spot. Andersen looks lost on almost every play. He's constantly leaving his feet and fouling on fakes, and he's always dropping the ball on offense. Deng is taking waaaayyy too many contested 3s, other than that, he's fine.

This game against the Clippers sent a two letter message to the Heat: GET BIGGER!

We need a legit center on this roster. Whether in the starting lineup or off the bench, we need at least one 7 foot huge center who can rebound and protect the paint. Andersen is not it. Neither is Hamilton. Why we let Birch walk is beyond my imagination. Cole needs to be traded. Who will accept him I do not know, but we have to try. Cole and Andersen in a deal or Cole and a draft pick. Then we can start Chalmers at point and have Napier back him up (eventually will be vice Versa), and then have Ennis back up Wade at the 2. If that happens, I guess we have Granger playing the backup 3 spot.

One more thing: 4th quarter, against clips, down more than 20, an opportunity to get the young guys some more experience and who's out on the floor? Brown, Granger, Andersen, Williams? What? Fix the defensive strategy, get someone that even remotely resembles a true center, and get Wade back for Pete's sake!!!

Our defense makes no sense with our personnel. Actually I'm not sure if any defense makes sense with our personnel. We need more length, quickness, and youth.

And I agree that we need less Granger and Andersen, and more Ennis. And it would be nice if McRoberts started earning some of his money. This roster is a gumbo made of crap, broken pieces, and mismatched parts.

Not sure if I would call our roster that, I'm ok with most of it, besides the lack of a legit center. We saw what this team can look like with Wade and McBob and Deng healthy in the first few games. When we get Wade back we will get a better picture of what this team will look like.

I have been thinking something along the same lines. I would not mind getting a back up for Wade, I hear Corey Brewer is on the market.

You know who I was also thinking of bringing back, which I know this board will hate me. Joel Anthony,
I wonder if you can trade Norris for Joel, and trade Birdman for Corey Brewer.

I also was wondering if we have too many assistant coaches that lack experience. Maybe Spo needs some parental supervision, bring in some guy with experience into the the bench, something is amiss,. I no longer recognize the Heat, I feel like I'm watching Frankenstein version of the Suns. When D'Antoni was around. But much worse of course.
And also can we package Granger, and Shannon Brown for another shooter so it gives Wade space for him do his magic instead of relying on a scrawny center to be a floor spacer, that way we might be able to play more conventional basketball, and get away from this Frankenstein basketball, or see less of it.

The lineup I would not mine seeing
PG: Rio Shabazz
SG: Wade Corey Brewer
SF: Deng Ennis Shooter
PF:Bosh McRobert Haslem
C: Joel Shawnee Williams Birch
