Stokes or Adams

Who do you think is the better rookie this season for the grizzlies, despite not getting to see them have much floor time yet? My personal opinion is Stokes, he isn't the greatest, but he is a better forward, definitely shooting (I knew he could rebound) than I thought so far, and he has a great work ethic, and he wanted to be on the grizzlies since he was a kid so unless we mess something up, he is probably here to stay and i want to see him stay and develop, he might not be good for a few years, still raw, but I think in the long run Stokes is going to be our man. Adams I really liked come draft day, thought it was a good move for memphis, but each day its eating away at me that Joe Harris was still on the board, I also liked Napier's game as a backup point, and Capela (though I like stokes more), and Adams even though he is working on weight management and it is in his contract, I just don't know that he is a good fit for memphis with their current situation and needs at the wing, he brings 3 point shooting, but at a large cost of defense, athleticism, and ball IQ (compared to our other wings), but tell me what you guys think so far of our rookies.

In other news Memphis will probably be shipping Calathes off to play in the Euro-leauge again, so I am okay with udrih getting the backup point minutes, but this now leaves us with 2 roster spots, we need to bring in a wing player for our rotation, prefer jordan hamilton, and we also need a bench point guard, I would say Adams could play it but again, he is not defensive or athletic enough imo. I would prefer to get someone cheap, but also young that we could develop, kailin lucas is good, but dont know that, that is the answer, i would like the grizzlies to give Marquis Teauge a tryout see what he's got and if he would be an upgrade on lucas, if not then just resign lucas for the 20th time

Stokes will have far greater opportunities than Adams, not a lot considering this is a veteran team with an eye on a championship so player development is not on the table at the moment. If a deal had been made and a wing or two were moved then Adams would have received some run. Unfortunately C. Lee started the season on fire, and Tony Allen is Tony Allen, Q-Pon is a possibility but what will he return in any deal and his contract is really good for us. As an organization, they must also demonstrate that a Championship is possible with this group or Marc Gasol will consider other destinations.

Are you able to source this info,(concerning Calathes) as after the season Calathes is a free agent, and during the season the only transaction between leagues is between the NBA and the D-league.

I'm pretty biased here but I'm a big fan of Stokes. And from the little I've seen him play I can't say I'm disappointed. Hopefully in 2 or 3 years he'll be developed enough to contribute some solid minutes and make an impact. He's got a great body type to be that effort/energy guy that frustrates opponents.

Adams looked better than I expected in preseason but he hasn't done anything to impress me in the garbage minutes he's played. It's too early to make a knowledgable judgement on him right now.

if we bring in a young guy that fits our current roster i'd go with Laquinton Ross . nice skills & size but questionable work ethic and effort but anyone brought in at this point will have pretty big question marks anyways . either way i don't think you worry about fit when drafting and you gotta take whoever you feel is the best player .

i thought adams would see more playtime but i also thought we would make a move to clear some clutter once VC was here i pretty much knew Adams would be buried unless he breaks out leaving no question that he should be playing. Stokes is gonna learn a lot and seemed like a perfect pick .
