I don't understand why with all the Vikings trouble at RB, Patterson hasn't really had any snaps from in the backfield.
He was stealing snaps from Peterson, but now he's forgotten ccommodity. If the 49ers were to go after him, I'd make him switch positions.

My only concern with him was his noggin'. He needs to have his touches manufactured until he learns everything. The Vikings stopped doing that.

Agreed! He's been in Zimmer's doghouse for most of the season. I would still take him though.

I would as well but Roman would need to go first.

Anyone else but Clyde & I like Justin Hunter more than Patterson?

I've been wrong about some much-hyped WRs recently like Kelvin Benjamin and Mike Evans (although I wonder how much of their success is garbage yards on bad teams), but Patterson was getting CRAZY hype this offseason. Other players were saying, "I'm gonna tell my grandkids I played with Cordarrelle Patterson." I never really bought it. Not that Justin Hunter is having amazing success either, but he's making some decent progress IMO. In fact, at 23, he's not all that far off of Kendal Wright statistically, who's already shown himself to be a fine receiver.

I do too. Justin Hunter needs to hit the weight room this offseason because there's no excuse for him to be as ineffective as he is.

I admittedly haven't seen a ton of Patterson, in college or the pros, but is he really a deep threat? I always saw him as more of a Harvin type - incidentally, another guy people frequently and mistakenly refer to as a deep threat. He's got deep speed, but he's at his best catching the ball in stride and making plays in the open field. He's really more of an explosive short- to intermediate-range target who can threaten all over the field. This year, he only has one catch on a ball thrown 20+ yards. Frankly, that's probably part of his problem. He doesn't have the focus/hands/instincts to play the deep balls.

We need someone to stretch the field n give the offense an element of speed ir quickness at the wr spot

I won't hold his stats with much merit being in that vikings offense....
