ATL: Week 17

Post#1 » by rilamann » Thu Dec 25, 2014 12:12 pm

Please football Gods, give us a Rams win Sunday and we'll never ask for anything ever again.

It's crazy how the Rams of all teams can have such a major impact on the entire NFC playoff picture if they beat the Seahawks Sunday. Not only does a Rams win give us the #1 seed provided we beat the Lions but it would also give the Cowboys the #2 seed (assuming ARZ loses at SF) with Seattle having to play Detroit in the wild card.

So the Seahawks would have to beat the Lions, then go on the road and beat the Cowboys to make it to Lambeau field for the NFC Championship game provided the Packers beat ARZ/CAR/ATL in the divisional game.Much tougher road for Seattle obviously than if they get the #1 seed and they likely get ARZ/CAR/ATL at home before hosting the NFC Championship game.

So yeah....GO RAMS.

The Rams have to be loving the opportunity at possibly knocking their biggest division rival out of the #1 seed. Hopefully their giant DLine can contain Lynch, use all that speed they have on O for some big plays, play with the lead and force Wilson to win the game by himself. Still think it will take a small miracle for it to happen but whatever...Go Rams!

Wow is CLE a mess.

Apparently Manziel had a party Friday night, which is why a bunch of guys were late for meetings / ect. on Saturday.

Gordon suspended for the game. Their other 1st who's been terrible (Justin Gilbert) inactive tonight for being late.

I'm not saying Gordon is a choir boy - dude has some obvious character flaws. But if that guy were on a team with an actual QB who could mentor the kid, I think you'd see a change in his life. Hopefully CLE just cuts him in the off-season and he can move on to a better team.

What the hell do they do with Manziel? My original assessment of him was that he'd win you some games himself, lose you some games himself, but never ever lead a team to a Super Bowl. He looked terrible in the minimal action and looks like a terrible influence on that team. I just don't see how you can go into next year with that guy as your QB and expect to keep your jobs.....

Cleveland could've had Odell Beckham Jr. and one of Bridgewater or Carr. A couple more awful decisions.

Kind of sad thinking this could be cutlers last game in the division.

Bucs trying to blow their chance at the #1 pick. Beating the Saints 20-7 at halftime while the Titans are trailing by 10.

These commercials where the celebrities just start crying and say nothing are the dumbest.

You know what would help 'start the conversation'? Actually saying something.

Triplette's crew is all kinds of awful. Luckily it was a scoring play and can easily be overturned on replay.

So we are rooting for the bears to keep them away from a top 6 pick?

Ehh. I don't think they can draft 6th unless Washington pulls off a huge comeback. So they're going to be picking 7-10 either way and Minnesota would get the higher pick if the Bears win and the Vikings look like a better run team currently than Chicago, so let the Bears get the higher pick.

Packer fans should really be rejoicing that Harbaugh has coached his last game in the NFL for at least the next 3 years.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

I still don't understand the 49ers parting with Harbaugh. Good luck with the next, inferior coach.

Actually, I think Rex is one of the few that would be a decent hire for them.

I'm still clinging to my dream of having Rex come to Green Bay and replace Dom as defensive coordinator.

Rex is a loudmouth obnoxious guy, but his teams certainly overperformed in his time with the Jets.

Emery was the bigger deal. Not that I think Trestman is the next Belichick, but I think Mike Smith and Trestman could have succeeded as subpar coaches (I think Trestman is better, though) if their GMs didn't punt on the draft for splashy overpriced signings and trades every single year. Both of those houses of cards collapsed.
