Pace replaces Phil Emery, who was fired Dec. 29 after just three seasons at the helm.

Pace, 37, joins the Bears after working 14 seasons with the New Orleans Saints, spending the past 13 years as a member of the player personnel department. Pace worked two seasons for the Saints as director of player of personnel, leading the club in all facets of scouting and the evaluation of college and pro prospects.

From what is being said about Pace this seems like a good hire. We will see in a few years. Up first: time to hire a coach. I'm rooting for someone who will bring Defense back to Chicago.

I like this hire just because it was unexpected. And if he turns out to be a good GM he will be around for a very long time which is also a great thing.

I'd like Kubiak as our next HC. His offensive system is perfect for our personnel and he did a really good job with a talentless Texas team. He also showed that he knew how to put together a staff. Maybe we can have Wade Phillips as DC if we get Kubiak

I'm good with the hire. If he's good --he's going to be good. He has the years so his age doesn't bother me.
I like that he was on/led Bowles interview--I really hoped this would be case.

Pace passed the press conference (his first ever) pretty much with flying colors. Heard him on an interview with the SCORE and he held his own.

Go find a head coach.

im happy. It sounds as if he wants to go back to our roots of running the ball and playing defense. I have no doubt he will get us the right man.

We definitely need a coach who will run the ball more. Look at the Cowboys. The more we run the ball, the less interceptions Cutler will throw.
