LOL how about that. Kobe's biggest hater on the show if not resigned could be replaced by Bean

If Bryant indicates he is serious about a broadcasting career after his NBA career ends, industry sources say he’d command $4 million to $5 million annually, if not more, because there would be a heavy competition for his services. ESPN (whose studio show is based in L.A.) and Turner are guaranteed to be interested. […] “He’s obviously smart and articulate and he would be a great candidate,” said Turner Sports senior vice president and executive creative director Craig Barry. “But like any job there is a certain amount of passion that the person needs to have for the day to day. That element of passion and wanting to share the game is a huge part of being able to connect with the viewer. That’s a huge part of being a successful broadcaster and I think Kobe would be great at it. But he would have to want to do it.”

Bryant has been a frequent guest on TNT’s Inside The NBA during his career and Barry described him as “smart, concise, articulate, with the ability to poke a little fun at himself.” The Turner executive said they would love to have Bryant as a guest analyst if the Lakers failed to make the playoffs and that he would absolutely reach out to Bryant after he retired to take his temperature on broadcasting.

One 7-foot-1 part of that (chemistry) puzzle could be Shaquille O’Neal, who is already part of Inside The NBA. If the Turner execs could swing it with their egos, how great would it be to have Kobe and Shaq on the same set? […] “They were a super duo on the court and regardless of what transpired between them, and I can’t speak to it as an authority, there is no reason they could not be one in a broadcasting scenario,” Barry said.

How'd you think Kobe would do on Inside the NBA alongside Ernie, Shaq and Kenny Smith? Barkley antics are probably what keeps the show so popular though

Barkley's stupidity is what keeps the show going, if Kobe does indeed go there, he'd probably take Shaq's job.

Kenny Smith is the one I can't stand. I'd love to see Kobe interact with Charles.

Kobe would he great in any tv role.

Also, is the title really accurate to the content of the article? Didn't see where it said Barkley would be replaced or that TNT would love for Barkley to be replaced.

Kobe's too big time to do broadcasting full time, he might dabble with it on and off though.

They quoted this article

“I love my job,’ Barkley said. ‘I love the people I work with. And I’m going to try to do things to keep me engaged. But I have four years left on my current deal and to be honest with you, it’s going to be a struggle for me to make it for the whole four years. I really don’t know how much longer I’m going to do this. I need something more, or something else to do to be honest with you.’

If Kobe is anything, he'd be the Kenny Smith of the team and certainly not Barkley. But I don't really think he fits on that show.

Kobe would probably make a very good analyst being that he has a sense of humor and is an intelligent guy in general. But truthfully he can do much bigger and better things than being a TV analyst; I think he's going to move into business endeavors and grow in that regard a la Magic Johnson.

He might dabble in television, but I imagine Kobe has more options than going to work for some media company.

As soon as he gets challenged by someone I think his true arrogance would shine through, he would respond with what he thought was funny but would end up being super insulting.

YES!

TNT should replace the entire cast with Kobe, Webber, Payton with Ernie.

This trio would have GOAT potential for basketball commentary and entertainment, especially since all three of these guys have history with one another.

I think all three of Charles, Kenny and Shaq are played out. The show needs some fresh faces with fresh insights.

I don't know man. Barkley's humor is what kept us entertained. Too much seriousness in the broadcast show might not be the best thing either.

I think most people watch the show because of Barkley's stupidity and Shaq's vs Chuck pissing each other off haha

I can't even imagine watching that garbage without Chuck, even if Ernie is the man.

The Jet is a broken record and Shaq has slightly more charisma than a sack of potatoes...

but the weird thing is I've seen more Shaq endorsement commercial not that he's retired vs. when he was playing. Especially those gold bond commercial, but they need to stop showing the "body part" everybody knows shaq is a fatty these days

Ehh....that bullsh*t has gotten old and tired now. All he does is disrespect the product the league has signed a huge deal with. You can't go on air and say things like, " If we show the Lakers or Knicks again I'm not coming to work". The stupidity is him not understanding that media markets drive ratings, the Lakers and Knicks would have to go 0-82 for them not to be placed on a schedule ever again.

Give me a show that can talk the fact, stay unbiased and give me just a little bit of humor. Barkley is an assclown, time for him to be taken behind the shed and put to sleep.
