Chudzinski staying with Colts

Post#1 » by jackwindham » Wed Jan 28, 2015 12:00 am

Some bad news for the San Francisco 49ers today, as Rob Chudzinski, whom the team has coveted for their vacant offensive coordinator position, has opted to remain with the Indianapolis Colts as their new associate head coach.

This has been a classic case of how NOT to manage your transition to a new coaching staff. If the 49ers are not dangling in the breeze, desperately searching for a new OC and new DC but unable to find one because of the stink of chaos and confusion and front-office interference, they're certainly providing a very convincing imitation.

I'm waiting for the Onion to report that the Niners are going to just have Kaepernick make plays, with no coach.

I'm curious to know how much of a raise Chudzinski got from the Colts to not sign with the Niners.

I guess we should be happy that they had to give something for him to turn us down. I mean, if they knew he wasn't going to come here even if they paid him the same, then that'd be even worse. But maybe the raise was to keep him away from St. Louis, etc.?

There's also the possibility that they kept him around because they feel that Hamilton will be leaving soon.
