Shaw Should Have Been Asst Coach 1st

Post#1 » by pickaxe » Sat Feb 21, 2015 11:21 pm

:o I'm seeing it now. GK coming off a 57 win season, given 1 more year with his assembled team to get out of the first round. Hire Shaw as an assistant coach, in charge of helping with special situations where the offense stalls or the defense is not on point.

We get an entire season to evaluate Shaw in a focused and defined role, George Karl gets the proverbial final chance, and also can mentor Shaw just enough so when there is a transition it is much smoother and decisions are much more clear and final.

So many open questions and this thing was thrown together way too fast. At least watching how Karl handles player situations would have been invaluable!

Karl would have never allowed the Nuggets to hire his top assistant and there was no way Shaw was going to leave the Pacers where he was top assistant to work for a team as a top assistant where the head coach had no interest in him working there.
