Lesson #1:
Italian teams don't need to impress to win a game.

They are not going very far if they keep playing the way they played today. I'm not even sure whether they manage to advance over this FB-less Dortmund team.

Get that crow ready when we go through, Foye/others. No way we make it back to the finals this year obviously. Not even saying we're a good team, we aren't, but we'll beat Juve and then lose to whoever.
Any other bold predictions from anyone?
Also, can't believe Messi missed that header, lol.

Clearly, you did not watch this one. They were quite UNimpressive. Especially in the second half. Bonucci arguably won them the game with that intense defensive stop. Auba most definitely scores if he gets that with only one man nearby

Sure, Juve were unimpressive. They obviously can't hang with Bayern, Barcelona, or even PSG. But after this game I don't see any reason to believe Dortmund will win next leg. I feel like your confidence is based on what BVB could be capable of, rather than what will actually happen.
I would not hesitate to say Juve deserved to win this game. Lets not forget Reus's goal was more than a Christmas present.
and sure Juve showed at times today that they are mentally weak...Juve fans already knew this. but props to them for still winning then...
As I read your comments I find it hard to believe we watched the same game.

Re: 2014
Juve missed so many opportunities today. They might regret not making it 3-1 or even 4-1; no matter how weak Dortmund's defense looks, it's never easy for a road team to go to Signal Iduna in from the yellow wall and 80 thousand strong. I think we could pull this off.

this post makes much more sense to me. Dortmund could certainly pull it off, no reason to think otherwise.
I'm still betting on my bianconeri though

It's a shame the ref lost control of the match in the second half cause the opening half was a blast, even if Juve did come out of it with the undeserved lead. Still not a bad result for the first leg against a Juve side which showed all of the weaknesses I expected and didn't capitalize on the defensive injuries for BVB as much as they should've. Also a bummer that Pirlo got hurt, not just cause he can be fun to watch, but because replacing him gave that Juve midfield the legs to battle with BVB in that part of the pitch, instead of just getting run over as they had been before the Pirlo and Pisczek injuries.

Pirlo and Gala are the reasons I started following football. I'm going to be sad when he retires. You guys should read his book. Extemely easy read, you can even do it in a day/hours depending on how fast you read, but I really enjoyed it. Legend.

Don't see Man City winning 2-0 or 3-1 at the Camp Nou in the second leg. Barca just gotta take care of business. Got too complacent for which I'll never know why in the second half after dominating that first half.

I didn't mean to be disrespectful, but he's an old man now. That Juve midfield needed Pereyra's running a lot more than they needed Andrea's brilliance to get a handle on the game, and you could see that with how much better they did in that part of the pitch after the swap.

Re: 2014
yea at this age Pirlo wasn't going to shine today...Juve would have needed to dominate possession which Allegri said all week wasn't important for the game plan. I don't think Dortmund was totally dominating the middle of the field before Pirloleft the game or anything, but you could tell it was a struggle for him because he had to run around so much.
Slide Marchisio back and insert Pereyra and it's easier for Juve to cover the midfield against a super quick team with good midfielders

Dortmund has a great defense as you mention before though. Really world class.
