I'm as guilty as anyone in forgetting sometimes that these are people too. The dude is trying his best and just can't get it together.

Good read thanks. Some nice points, but I definitely disagree with the part about him not able to improve, especially his hands.

He has a good, quick vertical leap and can hustle and rebound well. Definitely a place for him in the NBA if he isn't making his mistakes. I think he is too uptight, he tries too hard and that hurts him. He needs confidence and to just be relaxed. He'll never be a star but he can certainly improve on what he has and stay in the game.

I think the point was that at this age, he is what he is. He's not going to improve enough where he'd be anything more than what he is now, which is a fringe player. His hands is so bad that you would say he'd be 50 years old wearing glasses by the time his hands is great. And really, Ayres with a decent/average hands still isn't anything more than a fringe player.

His biggest asset is being a decent rebounder and hustle. If he was 6'10 or taller, he'd pass the size requirements to play Center because that's what his game is. Unfortunately, he's too short. He can't shoot. Can't catch a pass. Misses more dunks than I've ever seen any player miss. Have trouble finishing close to the basket.

He's just not an NBA player. In China or anywhere else, yeah he could look like a Tim Duncan. But not in the NBA. He does nothing above average, and has too many below average stuffs that is required from an NBA big man.
