With an inevitable rebuild right around the corner, one of the Spurs’ top international prospects has injured his knee for the second time in two years.

Latvian sharpshooter Davis Bertans tore his right ACL in a recent EuroLeague game while playing for Laboral Kutxa (Baskonia) of Spain’s Liga ACB. Sportando reports that Bertans, who was obtained by the Spurs from Indiana as part of the Kawhi Leonard trade, will miss at least six months.

The 42nd overall pick in 2011, Bertans originally tore his right ACL in June 2013 while playing for Partizan Belgrade. The 6-10, 210-pound small forward had made 50 3-pointers on 35.5-percent accuracy in 22 EuroLeague games this season. He was also shooting 42 percent on 3s while averaging 9.6 points per game in the Spanish League.

Bertans is one of 11 players to which the Spurs maintain rights that are currently competing internationally. He is probably second-best among those prospects, behind only 2013 first-round pick Livio Jean-Charles.

This really really sucks, he was having a really good year.
