Derrick Rose and Gangster Disciples question

I was wondering if I could get some help here in regards to the following:

A friend of mine sent me this link today:

It included these 2 pictures:

The website itself doesn't seem very reputable, but I couldn't find anything to disprove this via my own research. Can someone please help me out here? I'm not trying to start anything - just looking for some help, as I really doubt that this is legit.

D.Rose spent all his life avoiding gangs, I really doubt he wants to be a part of it now

Mediatakeout is a gossip site, so you shouldn't be putting much effort into what they say. And I'm pretty sure the hat is just for fashion and not representing anything. But its common knowledge that Rose is from the Englewood area. It's not surprising that he would know and have relationships with certain gang members. Hell, I'm in the Roseland area on the far south side and know a bunch of gang members, say what's up all the time to them.

But just because you know someone who's involved doesn't mean you are. Derrick's family made sure he didn't get side tracked and stayed focus on being a basketball player. That's all he is, just a basketball player so don't take much from this.

He's been wearing that hat for awhile now. Don't know what all those other logos mean but yeah the one on the right is his own. A nonsense issue from a nonsense website.

Ok, the logos are-

DRose- his own symbol
six point star- likely from the Chicago city flag
a basketball
and a V- no idea on that one

Its clearly not gang-related IMO. If you want to see that, just watch John Wall.

Derrick grew up in Englewood, he's affiliated. Definitely not an active gang member though.

The star is from the Chicago flag though, as stated above.

Ok, thanks guys. I never seen that site before, but figured it wasn't reputable just by looking around it. I don't understand the need to make this crazy ish up just to stir people up.

That's the entire reason they are up, to make BS rumors and get clicks. At least TMZ is barely respectable because they get actual facts before reporting.

Agree. Chicago literally loves Derrick. He can walk just about anywhere in this city and not feel threatened.
