Caron Butler Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Thu Jun 11, 2015 11:30 pm

Make no mistake about it, our team wouldn't be where it is today without Caron Butler. While on paper this trade seems like a steal, our locker room lost a huge asset. Going 5-23 isn't easy to deal with mentally, Juice is a large part of us making it out of that rut. He always seemed to make big shots, and helped our youth grow. I hope we resign him truthfully as i feel we'll need him over the course of the season.

Very high praise from SVG
“We appreciate the contributions of Caron and Shawne. Caron, in particular, is difficult to say goodbye to. Not only did he play well for us, his leadership went above and beyond. I'm not sure I've ever seen a single player have a more a positive impact on a team than Caron did on ours. He is a special person and we will always respect and appreciate what he did here.”

i read a article earlier in the year that stated that Butlers influence not only on the players but on coaches had a lot to do with us keeping it together

While Caron didn't always play well (although he was pretty good as a starter), I'll miss him. I remember reading articles about him helping get Jennigns going least season. He was definitely a valuable clubhouse leader. Hopefully when Milwaukee declines his team option, we buy-out Cartier Martin, and resign Butler to the vet min next year and use him as our 3rd string SF. I'd rather hang on to him if at all possible.

A consummate professional, on and off the court.

His veteran presence and locker room leadership was greatly appreciated.

All teams need more guys like Butler.

Checks his ego at the door, leads by example and with words, helps other players both for in gane situations and off the court...

People said we overpaid to get him - those people obviously don't have a real understanding of what it takes to build a team.

Regardless of the environment (office, factory, sports team) you need guys like Butler - they're priceless.

Sorry to see him go, here's hoping he comes back to us soon

Always admired him as a player. Sounds like a terrific locker room presence as well. It would be nice to have him back. Whatever happens, I wish him all the best.

Caron always seemed like a bulldog and someone not to mess with. He is a great leader and would love for him to come back and join this team. We need a leader.

Also, would love to sign a veteran center to mentor some of these young guys
