Do NBA players have roommates?

Post#1 » by Shock Defeat » Sun Jun 28, 2015 7:38 am

I was watching Like Mike and saw that all the players had to share a hotel room with another player. Do NBA players still share hotel rooms with a teammate?

I assume you mean do they room with their teammates when they're on the road and living in hotels. And yes, they typically do as far as I know. Generally 2 to a room.

Jeremy Lin did when he was trying to make the league, I would imagine a lot of guys that frequently fly to dleague do also, but as far as as actually established players who are on multi year contracts?

There's just something odd about a financially independent grown man willingly having a room mate.

Jeremy Lin not only slept on Landry Fields' couch, but he also slept on Chandler Parsons' couch even AFTER he signed his multi-year contract with Houston. He roomed with Parsons because they were in the same building, and his own furniture hadn't arrived yet. So instead of sleeping on the floor of an empty, unfurnished apartment, or renting a hotel, he slept on the couch of his next door neighbor. They even made a youtube video together.

Kevin Durant spent Christmas Eve at a slumber party at Landry Fields' place in NYC a couple of years back, too. They even had matching pajamas.

I can't imagine NBA players sharing rooms in the road. Most companies I have worked for,Mae have separate rooms and we make peanuts compared to these NBA franchises.

For the first couple of years that Dirk and Steve Nash lived in Dallas they were roommates in an apartment. And it wasn't even a nice apartment complex.
