Trying to think logically,

No chance in HEll Bosh or LMA are starting on the bench. Whiteside too good to be a bench guy, and he can't play PF.

THis makes no sense.

Deng + Mcbob + Rio for S&T for LMA?

Whiteside doesn't start games?!

Let me again give everyone a flashback. 2004 Shaq was looking for a new team. All the rumors were Shaq going to Dallas, New York or Pheonix. Rumor comes out that Pat Riley takes a trip to LA for a job interview with the Lakers. Fans panicked, then when Pat comes back from his supposively job interview he shocks everyone by announcing that he has a deal in place to trade for Shaquille Oneal LOL.

Sound very similiar "Pat goes to LA on vacation at the same moment Aldridge meets with the Lakers" LOL

SAme, but I really believe we don't need to offer Whiteside, we can build a good enough package with replaceable contract..Picking up Justise was HUGE for us, made Deng expandable, Picked up Richardson who made Napier expandable, We can pull it off...Portalnd are in a rough spot and Riley is coming......

No need to trade Deng.

Mcroberts, birdman, and Rio are 21 million apparently (thought it was 15).

But I like Mcroberts. And if Aldridge wants money and to be in a starting five, he should go to San Antonio. If he wants the best chance to win while playing pf, he can come to Miami off the bench. But that is an improbable idea. No way does he do that

Wouldn't need to move Bosh/Dragic/Wade...it's being discussed in the free agency thread come join it here

Ok lets play along, my guess is Pat is trying to get as many Elite players under contract to then later dangle in front of OKC for Durant. Whiteside has always been expendable to Pat since his goal is another Lebron type player.

I bet it's bosh and salary so we can have space next summer, and get younger and more physical up front. Aldrige and Whiteside would beat teams up.

Portland does it because Bosh is basically Aldridge, so they can still contend out west.

knowing Pat Riley, he always wants the best and he's about now. Anyway there is no assurance of KD for next off-season, I believe Heat's cap space for next off-season is more about having the flexibility to sign players in 2016.

Riley and the Heat might be a good candidate for LMA, coz of our roster plus the fact the competition in the east is not as strong as the west, better chances to be in the final, likewise the winning tradition and culture of the Heat, the place and it has a no state tax.Also, LMA will have more money ($109m vs. $86m) if he choose Miami coz of the S & T, its a 5-yrs with better percentage increase compare to 4-yrs that he can sign with other teams.

But IMO, the Heat will coz a package that includes eather Bosh or Whiteside in a trade with Portland. But for Portland, obviously, a S & T is better than losing LMA for nothing.
