Time to revisit Monta S&T

Post#1 » by chube » Thu Jul 9, 2015 4:39 am

Larry seems pretty old-school about following through on a deal once it's done (as he should). But now that DeAndre-gate appears to be solved with him not going to Dallas after all, think there's any chance of an S&T with Dallas involving Hibbert and Ellis now?

Not sure it'd be much different if it's really just a 2nd rounder or two. In fact, LA's would be a higher pick than Dallas'.

I don't see the Pacers backing out of the deal with LAL but if they have over committed on their signings and attempt to force us to take Nick Young I'd tell them to get stuffed.

We don't need a S&T. We have room under the cap based on a deal with LA and no-on to spend it on. Looks pretty thin on the market (based on all of the verbal agreements).

There is growing speculation around the league that the Pacers will approach the Mavs about a trade for Roy Hibbert now that Dallas has missed out on Jordan, Jake Fischer of LibertyBallers tweets. That’s apparently even though Indiana has committed to trade Hibbert to the Lakers.

Jake Fischer has a less than stellar reputation, according to Philly fans. Other reports from the Lakers have reported that there's confidence the Hibbert deal to the Lakers will be done today, and that there's no Lakers players involved. 2nd and cash to Indy, Hibbert to LA.

JULY 9TH, 10:20am: The trade is on track to be finalized today, with the Lakers planning on sending a future second-round pick and cash to the Pacers, tweets Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today.

Seems like a done deal! Bring on the 2nd round of the 2017 or 2018 draft!
