Aaron Loup Optioned to AAA

Post#1 » by North_of_Border » Mon Aug 17, 2015 12:02 am

Its finally happened. Aaron Loup is sent down. 7 man bullpen now.
Its not because they are tired of him though. Jays need a 4th Outfielder so they made this move. Expect an outfielder from the minors coming up soon. Im expecting Carrera. He did a fine job when he was up last times.

Gibbons talks highly of Loup. I wouldnt be suuprised if he is back up in September when the rosters expand. He mentioned that he was a Go-To-Guy last few seasons and has a great character. Jays like em alot. He just ahs been hit hard and wasnt getting play time. He gets a chance to do some work in the minors now. Horrible MLB season though.

It's the move that should have been made on the 31st, even if the decision was to keep Carerra over Valencia. No reason to carry an 8-man rotation and Loup had options so didn't require waivers.

That's about the size of it. It's very peculiar they just threw away an asset like Valencia for nothing.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

xFIP of 2.74. Poor guy. He was throwing harder, getting more strikeouts and walking less batters this season than at any other point in his career. Just bad luck that so many of the line drives he gave up became homers and the groundballs became hits.
