Re: Draft 2016
Prediction: Magic finish 9th in the East, landing the 11th slot in the lotto. We get lucky and hop to #3.

Re: Draft 2016
yeah it is very early. The 2016 draft isn't viewed to be as good as some of the past couple drafts but we shall see how it ultimately shakes out. Poetl is an interesting guy though I am not sure he would be my favorite. Their are guys in that draft that interest me a lot more than him but that depends on where we ultimately end up picking. We could finish outside of the bottom three spots in the standings yet still have a top three pick due to the lottery. Plus we have to wait and see who rises and falls. I am keeping my eye on a lot of prospects as well as the own growth of our own talent as that will go a long way to determining what we still need. Still way to many question marks for me to declare a favorite right now. For some teams right now the picture is clearer but we have a lot of young talent that has question marks and we have a wide range on where we could end up drafting, which isn't helped by the uncertainty in the East after the top 4-6 teams.

Re: Draft 2016
If Magic needs a big guy who appears to be a prototype of a Point Forward, it's definitely Bender. However, Bender will most likely go anywhere from 1st to 4th pick and there are many teams that want him. Bender is athletic (not as athletic as Porzingis but athletic, moves really smooth around the court), he's brilliant at finishing around and above the rim, is a good 3PT shooter and above all, he has incredible court vision and passing ability. He might be more talented than Toni Kukoc. Not to mention he's only 17 and will be playing Euroleague this year with Maccabi Tel Aviv (European powerhouse) senior team. His coach recently said he plays like he's 25 and not 17. He posses incredible work ethics and his English is really good if that matters.
I guess it would be awesome to pair him and Hezonja.

Re: Draft 2016
You know it's September and the draft isn't until June... That's 9 months... We still have this thing called a "season" to go, then after that, there is a "post season" when the best team in the league wins this thing called a "championship"
THEN, it's this draft you speak of, when we will hopefully be picking anywhere from 15 to 30...

Re: Draft 2016
Looking at the early big name prospects makes me wish we picked a little higher this year and nabbed one of the several elite PF/C prospects of the 2015 class like Porzingis and Towns so we didn't have to go into the wing heavy 2016 class after just taking Hezonja the year prior.
I'd be uncomfortable being forced to take another wing (assuming we stick with BPA) with so many of our players already able to play SG and/or SF. There are only so many minutes to go around with a new wing rookie, Oladipo, Fournier, Harris, Hezonja, Gordon and our lesser prospects like Marble and Harvey.

I don't think we need a point forward type. We need a big guy who can play D more than anything.

Re: Draft 2016
I love The Draft but this year for the first time in three years, we are thinking playoffs.
If that happens, The Magic will likely have a mid-first round pick and when your picking there, you go BPA.

Agreed as the Magic is likely to be drafting for bench depth; the pick must be BPA.

Re: Draft 2016
if we are in the late lottery this season.... I'm pretty keen on Cheick Diallo who both nbadraft and draftexpress have ranked 11 and 12 respectively. But not quite sure he'll be available at that point by the end of next season. :-/ but

I think it is always BPA available. I think sometimes you have a few guys with the same grade so then you start to look at fit but in the end I think you always go with who you think is the BPA available and worry about fit later. I don't think you go into any pick hoping to get a guy for the bench even if that is the most likely possibilities for later 1st rounders. But still just because you pick late doesn't mean you resign yourself to getting a guy who won't start. I think you try and get the best out of whoever you got.
As for us making the playoffs sure it is possible but still we are very young and still lack a lot of shooting among the likely starters. Hezonjia may take time and yeah we got some good shooters behind Payton but still I am not going to be dissapointed if we don't make the playoffs. Yes we have Skiles and he has made some quick turnarounds before but I am not sure we are in the same boat as those previous teams. We just have to wait and see what happens but in my mind we are still one of the 5 worst teams until proven otherwise.

Re: Draft 2016
I have no idea what our needs would even be.
Fun to speculate who the top prospects out there might be, however.

Re: Draft 2016
My first choice would be Arvydas Sabonis' kid. Then Dunn. LaBissiere and Simmons will be long gone before we pick. If not, we've had a very disappointing season.

Buna ziua din Romania
I already watched some videos of prospects for the draft 2016
My favorites:
1.jacob poeltl from Utah university
http://youtu.be/_l1CZzyVwkI
Great post defense, rim protection and rebounding, impressive in p/r Defense
2.henry ellenson from marquette
http://youtu.be/LNYZYSAJi98
Great physical profile for the pf Spot
6f10 with a 7f2 wingspan
Excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor, great offensive skill set with post scoring and shooting stroke, excellent ballhandling.
For me one of these 2 players would be a very good addition to our roster

So his traveling violations are done with more physical acuity?
