They are the first team to officially file . Looks like the Raiders and Rams will follow suit pretty soon as well.

The writing appears to be on the wall for San Diego. A shame. Having lost the Sonics, I never like seeing teams move. The awful side of city/stadium politics.

After reading about it I feel like Rams proposal over Chargers/Raiders combo is better idea. I can see why Kroenke would want to build an FU stadium like Jerry Jones, that stadium would have so much potential for things outside of the NFL too like 100,000 people Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney concerts, the perfect Wrestlemania venue, etc. Maybe move Chargers to St. Louis after or something if they on verge of stadium since part of the Chargers motive seems to be that an L.A. team would eat into their market too much

I think San Antonio should have a team. Population of 1.4 million and they support the hell out of the Spurs. Only 1 major sports team there is surprising. I guess Jerry Jones has too much power blocking it

Its only a coupla hours up the road. Secondly, theres very little to no fan base in LA for the chargers. There is still a very strong LA RAM contingent in LA. Lastly, this is a plea for help for 2 broke frachises. The Chargers and Raiders. The Rams have the strong WALTON FAMILY/WALMART etc backing. But it seems that the owners may possibly go the way of welfare and side with the poorest of all of the NFL franchises and bail them out, and give them relocation.

I would not bail out the chargers or raiders at all. Give LA to the Rams. Leave the Chargers in San Diego and the Raiders in Oakland. Sell their franchises to competent ownership and dump the Davis family and the Spanos family from NFL ownership.

Still don't get the obsession of having a football team in LA, but if anyone is gonna move it should be the Chargers. San Diego is already close enough to LA.

I would love it if the Chargers moved to San Antonio since I live in Austin (as opposed to them moving to LA). It would feel a little weird pulling for a SA team, being a Suns fan, but I will have that same problem with LA.

Ultimately I hope StL moves and San Diego somehow stays put but that's probably a long shot that they stay in SD. It might be both of them sharing a stadium or just San Diego in LA.

I agree about the Rams going to LA. That just seems right and they have tons of fans their. Heck, when the Chargers played the Rams last year there were tons of LA Rams fans that went down to San Diego and were all over in the stadium.

I don't think most NFL fans switch loyalties very easily so I don't think San Diego will pick up a lot of immediate new fans if they move. They will probably lose quite a few in SD though. The tickets would sell better simply because of the huge market and general NFL fans may want to go. I think most of the new fans they would build in LA would be kids as they grow into football fans adopting the local team on tv that they are able to go see.

Should be the Chargers. They're already the closest to LA and San Diego fans aren't really a passionate sports fanbase anyway.

I would prefer not to see any leave, but I do think that we will see one go to LA, not 2.

Order of Likelihood for me is:

1) Rams
2) Chargers
3) Raiders

The owners are meeting in Houston next week to discuss this. I could see some divided lines as far as conference goes. I think that both the NFC and the AFC would want the LA Market in in their conference, so if a two team move happens I think that it would be the Rams and one of the others rather than the two AFC teams.

should be rams though. i dont think going from 0 to 100 and giving LA two franchises right away is a good idea.

Apparently there are enough votes to block a move from all of the teams. Stalemate? I've seen reports that the relocation committee favors a San Diego move. Would block the Rams to LA due to St. Louis supposedly having a competent stadium plan. The Raiders on the other hand? The league prefers them to stay in Oakland. But Mr. Davis might try to threaten the league, if they block a move to L.A. Who knows? Chargers & Raiders had an agreement for the Carson stadium plan, as I understand it.

I think the key here is partnership. If the Rams align with the Raiders, rumors are rumors, but the rumor is it would cost the Raiders less. If the Chargers and Raiders align, it would cost the Raiders more. No partnership has been spoken of between rams and charger possibility

LA is a city where you have to be competitive to get support. Basically, LA fans are smart and won't waste their time and money on crap. It was an unfortunate coincidence of circumstance when they lost the Raiders and Rams that both teams were mediocre to crappy for a while at the same time that new stadiums were becoming necessary to financially compete in the free agency era. Otherwise, when there is a compelling product on the field, LA will support their teams as evidenced during most of the 80s when the loved the Raiders or the 70s and early 80s when the Rams were relevant. So, as long as you aren't an organization like the Browns and you are able to put out a team that's consistently competitive, LA is a great market, especially for the Rams or Raiders who still have some measure of foothold in the area.

Meh, the NFL has done just fine without a team in LA for a while. I don't think they NEED one there, but I can understand teams that are struggling wanting the LA appeal.

Latest rumors have the Rams/Chargers move getting the approval by the league. A vote expected this week. Makes the most sense. New stadium would cost upwards of 2 billion :o

Edit: The committee favors the Carson location. Chargers/Raiders plan. Pretty evident that the Chargers are moving.

Rams/Chargers it appears!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/12/chargers-rams-to-inglewood-closer-to-reality/

The Raiders have withdrawn & are staying put in Oakland.

Having lost a team, I feel for fans of both San Diego & St. Louis, if this does hold up. Fans of teams shouldn't have to go through this. It's shameful!

Edit: It's Official. LA Rams are back.

Now that the inevitable has happen, can L.A. keep both football teams the second time around?

Sad for san diego. St. Louis. But imo. The raiders have the best onfield product. Because they have a young and upcoming qb. But no matter, theyre out. And the rams and chargers are in. Funny part is if, the chargers turn it around first and win a title or get to wnning consistently before the rams. Its going to be funny how many charger fans will come out of nowhere.
