Thibs for Grizz

Post#1 » by Zordor » Sun Nov 8, 2015 4:26 pm

Always been a fan of Thibs, wanted him when Joeger was gonna leave earlier, I think he could do great things for this team, I really thought DJ turned it round getting rid of Prince and Pondexter and getting us Russ and Green plus the decent additions this summer and how we looked last year, but not sure now

I respect Thibs as well. The thing with him is that he will be back in the same situation once again. A team known for good defense(it's a big stretch so far), but lack enough offensive output to put the team over the top. Evident in the Grizzlies playoff runs these last few seasons. The Grizzlies have multiples of issues they need to address and better address them quick before they dig too deep of hole.

I don't see how Thibs will be better for this team. He does all the things that DJ does that annoys the fans. Overplays his starters, poor execution and imagination on offense / doesn't develop the young players. I also don't think his hard nosed all out approach works well with the leaders of this team (Gasol, Zach, Conley) who I feel (esp. Gasol) like a less iron fisted approach.

Also, overplaying guys like Gasol, Zach & Conley seems to be an injury waiting to happen.
