The Knicks forum really needs some work...

Post#1 » by Kenyon009 » Mon Jan 11, 2016 11:30 pm

I'm trying to post on the forum of my favorite team and I get these garbage "warnings". Can you please look through the DeMar DeRozan thread and tell me how I'm changing the topic I got a warning for? Not to mention a poster on that forum is instigating aon there and trying to fuel an argument. I got warned for that in the past so how about keeping it equal amongst posters on this site and giving that poster one of those too? Supposedly I'm banned from there? For what? I didn't make personal attacks against anyone despite having them made towards me in the past. They made fun of my nationality and nothing was done about it...

I actually said I would stop posting there, but then again that was my decision and I can come and go where ever I want as long as I'm following the rules. The only problem I have is despite following them I have mods inches away from my rear end waiting for me to slip up while other posters get a free pass since they're online buddies with the particular mod.

I don't see how comparing DeRozan to Anthony in the thread is taking it off topic. We're comparing two players who would have the same role, so you would have to pick a better of the two. So that brings in the question is signing DeRozan as a replacement for Melo a good idea? Who should the Knicks continue to build with in the future? That's well within the topic in my opinion. DeRozan if he were to be signed would have a conflicting role with Anthony.

This is a normal thing in the league. When a back up over performs a starter they are compared in this case, if an attainable FA is outperforming a star player he should be compared to said FA in order to conclude whether or not he's worth paying money for.

I can't speak for your conduct on the Knicks board, but I have seen your work on multiple other boards including ones I moderate, and I feel pretty confident any warnings you received aren't "garbage" at all but likely totally justified. '

If you simply refrain from pervasive personal attacks, constant baiting of entire fanbases, stop evading the profanity filters, and treat the volunteer moderators of every board, including the Knicks board, with more respect you will likely find you won't be receiving these warnings you are concerned with.

But if you continue with your typical posting strategy, I think you will find that you will continue to receive pushback because that type of post derails discussion, lowers the quality of discussion, and potentially drives other users away.

And yes your history means you will have a shorter leash. You aren't actually aware of the actions Mods may or may not take towards other posters as we don't make it a habit of publicizing them. You should concern yourself with improving your own posting rather than trying to backseat moderate other users.

Adding to Chuck's points...

- calling another user a racist
- personal attack
- evading the language filter/personal attack
- derailing/baiting on the GB (Read-Only Access there)
- telling a poster to STFU and GTFO on the Feedback forum
- evading the language filter
- "protracted and atrocious flame war on the Raps board"

Even ignoring the stuff that's happened on the Knicks board, you've been banned from the GB, you're a problem poster on the Raps board, you're like the only poster I can think of off the top of my head who has managed to get a warning on the FEEDBACK forum of all places...

How are you surprised that the Knicks mods have an issue with you? You're abrasive, you routinely evade the language filter, make personal attacks and bait other posters.

Change your behavior, don't complain that you're being mistreated by the New York mods.
