Relocation

Post#1 » by UCF » Thu Jan 14, 2016 12:17 am

With the news of the Rams going back to LA. I couldn't help but think that could have just as easily been the Jags making that move. I really feel for their fan base and I can imagine that will create a big void in their community. Even though I don't live in Jacksonville I'm really impressed from afar at how involved Shad is in making the team a valuable part of the community and investing in the product on the field.

Shad Khan has been a god-send.

He is about to break ground on 90M in improvements to the stadium (including an indoor practice facility and amphitheater attached to the stadium) along with rumors that he is close to a deal to buy the shipyard property adjacent to the stadium.

SHad wants to buy the shipyards property, which a good sized vacant lot that sits on the St. John's River across from the stadium and develop it. If you haven't seen his vision for the shipyards, I suggest you take a look. He is doing great things for not only the Jags, but the city of Jacksonville.

I've seen the plans and it looks like a real community changer with the size and features.

I have stadium envy and wish we had that in Orlando. Instead we have a bland citrus bowl.

I always thought Khan was missing a good opportunity by not using Orlando more. I don't know why they don't do training camp down in Orlando? They could use the Disney sportsplex fields and would probably draw some interest especially with Bortles. Heck, you could probably even play a preseason game there against the Bucs or something.

Just feels like a missed opportunity to me.

They should play a pre-season game against Tampa or Miami at the citrus bowl.

Return to Jacksonville Jaguars
