Kings @ Nets | Feb 5, 2016
It is time for another game. Anyway, Marco is the new starter until further notice.

I think they scored 10 points in the last 2 minutes of the half. We are terrible.

Re: Kings @ Nets | Feb 5, 2016
The passion for this iteration of the team (coaches) is pretty much gone. Lack of energy, a talented team underachieving with a has been coach who will be replaced shortly. The fans energy likewise falls
At this stage it's hard for me to root for the team to win instead of for draft pick status and the controversy losing creates (coaching hot seat). Another lifeless season.
The team is in a dead lock tie with the leagues third worst team near half, and I ain't watching

So I will be keeping an eye out for that Kings trade notification. Now back to my regular beer drinking.

so, tonight Joe Johnson will have a season high in points scored, and that Bogdanovic guy will have a career high in three pointers made.
And a season high in points scored as a team and three pointers made.

kings fans, what is your gut feeling?
are they close to blowing it up? firing the coach? or just riding it out and waiting until the offseason?

The issue is you don't know who to trade when the players aren't playing for the coach
Scrubinelli could look decent for a coach playing to the rosters strengths

That's it, times up. Time to make a change. Fire Karl now and maybe even if that doesn't fix anything it might artificially infuse the team with some energy to get some type of playoff push started. They can't afford to get any farther under .500 and still have a legit shot at the post season.
Ideologically the pace idea is dead, done, gone, see ya later. Time for a different vision, some different talent, and a new path. They need to beg Thibs to at least look at the job before he's gone.

Thibs will have his choice where to go next
I feel your pain though

I'm a bit concerned it's the last one, but the truth is they probably need to do a little bit of the first and likely the 2nd. They gave it the 'ol college try with Karl despite the rockiest head coaching start in history and it's just simply time to move on. As for the personnel, they need to either find a few more defensive oriented talents via trade or desperately look to cut some salary so they have a chance this offseason because as it stands re-signing Rondo is the only move they can probably even pull off this summer and that's with the cap raise factored in.
I've said it before and watched previous GM's sit on their hands, but one way or the other, Vlade has to do something. Sitting means that he might be locking this team in the state that it's in from all fronts.

Re: Kings @ Nets | Feb 5, 2016
The problem is the team is boxed in to its reputation of firing coaches prematurely, and now they have a perceived hall of fame coach maybe not making it a full season
Because of reputation they are forced to play it more conservative IMO

Like I've said many times before, Karl and Cousins are married, if you get rid of one then you should probably get rid of the other.... Why fire Karl and yet again hope Cousins can put it all together with a new coach? Why trade Cousins and allow Karl to continue when its clear he is losing the locker room? ..... Just my thoughts...

Re: Kings @ Nets | Feb 5, 2016
Premature? In a few more games it might actually be too late. Look, the players have already bailed on the coach, and possibly for real this time. I would expect them to come out against Boston and play hard, and if they don't this is burnt toast at that point, but you can't have them then give up on the organization. When you factor in every single way this has all come down from the first day Karl arrived, if nobody understands this situation in it's totality then they aren't looking at it objectively.
Even Bobby on the post game is implying it's time for a new voice at HC. Clearly, it's either the coach or the team. There is no way they could or should build a team catering to the needs of coach Karl. That time would have been in the offseason and Vlade did not do that. He built almost the exact opposite of what Karl needs to run his system.

This can play a huge part in what Vlade wants to do.. To fuel that fire Vlade's contract is up after the season, or Grant said iirc

What are you talking about? They've never even dated.

You get rid of one to placate the other. They don't fit, they don't work. If Karl won't adjust his style after giving up record highs to some of the worst teams in the league that's a major cause for concern. With the right team Karl could waltz his way into the playoffs I'm sure. This isn't his kind of team.

Doesn't excuse the blatant coaching sins that are being committed. I question if Karl still has it, and by the looks of it the Kings locker room has doubts as well.

Postgame:
"I'm keeping it in house but we do have a bigger issue than energy and effort...."
and this one:
"We seem to have some sort of career high from an opponent every night"

I can't see him losing it after just winning the biggest award in coaching not so long ago. I said it this summer, this never looked like the team Karl was describing. Heck, he's freaking already attempted to have Cuz removed to fit his vision. Regardless of fault or anything, it's time to move on and let Vlade tell us what his vision is and who is best to help it become reality.

Cousins is hinting towards coaching/scheme and I agree. Players aren't blameless though
