Marcus waived will Detroit put in a claim ?

Post#1 » by kellmellus50 » Sat Feb 27, 2016 2:51 pm

The Houston Rockets waived guard Marcus Thornton, league sources told The Vertical.

Thornton’s role had diminished with the Rockets, and he had been part of the rescinded three-team trade that included the Detroit Pistons.

Thornton is not a PG. That said, I'd take him.

The Pistons are over the salary cap and dont have cap space to claim somebody of the waiver. They have to wait until he clears waivers and once he is a free agent sign him to a deal.

I don't think we have interest - would depend on injury to Johnson I guess. Both Johnson and Meeks are being re-evaluated early next week.

I doubt we have interest. Unless Meeks is really done for his career.

Thornton was a throw in here - Houston wanted to move him to get under Luxury Tax line.
