I don't care.

Gotta root for a loss just to increase the chances that EG gets fired.

If Beal plays and starts then we win. If no then we are grasping for straws

Ok so they gave up 41 points last game in the 4th quarter. Which is essentially playing defense like the all star game. Which means NO defense was played. Why exactly should we care anymore. 2016/17 can't come soon enough for this squad.

In 45 years of being a fan of this franchise, I've never been less interested than now.

Wake me up when Grunfeld is gone.

True must-win. They need to win the next 4 (DET/CHI/PHI/NYK), then split with ATL and beat Minny at home to go 6-1 going into the road trip. Puts us as .500 with momentum. Let's do it guys!

I hope this is put in the loss column. Tank for the draft pick. There's a player in the top 8 for us to go grab.
I'd like to see much more of Porter and Ourbe in this game. Those two need more burn.

There is no reason whatsoever to believe this team is capable of going on a win streak like that.

Even if they do, they're guaranteed to follow it up with another 4-5 game losing streak.

How many games do we have to lose going forward to keep our pick?

Yup. Pretty crazy. I cared more about this team during the years when our record was in the high teens in wins.

This is truly the worst possible scenario. Not making the playoffs, probably not having a pick and watching the titanic being driven to the depths of the ocean by Captain Grunfail.

Our record is 30-35

There are 7 teams who have managed to win just 25 or fewer games to date. With just 14-17 games left, I don't see how we can expect any of them to surpass us in wins since they are unlikely to win more than 5 or 6 games from here on out. Even if they play .500 ball (unlikely), we would have to finish something like 2-15 to get below them. Not gonna happen.

Ahead of those 7 Truly Awful Teams are the Mediocre Teams:

Milwaukee 29-38 (15 games left)
Orlando 28-37 (17 games left)
Denver 28-38 (16 games left)
New York 28-40 (14 games left)

We need 3 of those 4 teams to finish with one more win than us. We're spotting them 2 wins so it'll be tough. Let's assume that they play roughly .400 ball down the stretch. That leaves them with 6 more wins each (possibly 7 for Orlando). So our target is 34 total wins. We need to finish 4-13, and preferably 3-14.

The good news is that I don't think these teams are all that inclined to tank hard. They may play youngsters some, but they're not looking to jockey for position between the 8th and 11th seed. The lottery odds don't differ by that much once you get to the bottom of the lottery. My guess is that they'll keep trying to win to finish the season strong. They don't have the same all-or-nothing motivation that we have to tank our way from 12th to 9th.

Unfortunately, we only face one of those teams (NY) so we can't out tank them head-to-head and give them some wins.

Rico,
Always the eternal optimist.

No chance any of this is happening though. I can't look at this team and go...They can still get to .500 because their play on the court says otherwise.

Too late for tanking. I hope your team wakes the hell up and finally starts playing to their potential.

Me and the guys are going tonight. WE had bought the tix a while ago.

Now, it's just a reason to hang out and have a few beers and eat stadium food. I can't believe I'm giving Ted a bunch of my hard-earned money. I feel dirty.

Last game until front office and coaching changes are made.

Amen. It may be time to call for a boycott. No tickets, no gear. Not a single dollar until Grunfeld is gone.

01. 76ers 09-57 .136 L1 1-9
02. Lakers 14-53 .209 L2 3-7
03. Suns 17-49 .258 L3 3-7
04. Nets 18-48 .273 L4 3-7
05. Timberwolves 21-45 .318 W1 4-6
06. Pelicans 24-41 .369 L3 2-8
07. Kings 25-40 .385 L5 1-9
08. Knicks 28-40 .412 W1 4-6
09. Nuggets 28-38 .424 W4 6-4
10. Magic 28-37 .431 L1 3-7
11. Bucks 29-38 .433 W3 5-5
12. Wizards 30-35 .462 L5 4-6
13. Jazz 31-35 .470 W2 3-7
14. Bulls 32-32 .500 L2 4-6

It'll probably take a pretty extraordinary slide to make it to 9th, something like a 5-12 finish to make up ground on the Nuggets and Knicks.
