Questions about Charlotte

Post#1 » by WillCmeAsRomans » Wed Mar 16, 2016 6:04 pm

Made the drive from Orlando to watch the game tonight, do you guys have any tips on cool things to do outside the arena, inside the arena, or any other tips on general?

Also when do the gates open for entrance? Thanks!

Recommend you swing by a restaurant called "Queen City Q" before the game, they have decent BBQ and probably the best selection of local beer in downtown Charlotte. It's only about a block and a half from the arena.

If you want to visit a craft beer Mecca, go to Duckworth's downtown, only a few blocks away from the arena.

I think arena opens at 6PM for games. Arena is uptown so there's lots of places to eat, bars etc... nearby. Epicentre is across the street from the arena next to the bus station, they have food, drinks, clubs, bowling alley etc...

If you are the learning type or have kids, there's a handful of museums in uptown Charlotte
Discovery Place/Imax Theater

Imaginon

Bechtler Art Museum

Have heard good things about that BBQ place before, didn't know it was that close to the arena though which is a pleasant surprise.
Thank you to you both appreciate the tips!

Imaginon is great if you have kids and free.

Discovery Place is also great whether or not you have kids, but better if with.

Mert's Heart & Soul on North College St. is good, affordable, and close to the arena.
