Expectations for the Season

Post#1 » by UCF » Mon May 9, 2016 1:58 am

With a few months before the season to go I'm interested to see where the predictions for next year.

I'm thinking this year for me to be a success is 10 wins. I still think our defense will lag behind the offense but make a big improvement.

I'm not sure the exact number of games they will win, but I will be disappointed if we don't make the playoffs. The last few years, there were games where you just knew the Jags would lose. Assuming the Jags offense doesn't take a step back, they should be competitive in every game this year.

The Defense has a TON of new faces, but I am hoping that the Defense can gel faster than the offense did. Back in 2011, the Jaguars had a huge defensive overhaul in the offseason and their defensive rating went all the way to 6th. If we can get our defense into the mid-teens then this team should be a real force.

I have been tampering my expectations for this team for awhile now, but after this offseason and the progress the offense made last year, it is time to see results. I, for one, am very excited for this season.

The year really depends on Blake maintaining or growing his level of play and the defense being able to reinvent itself. I feel like we're two years from being a great team. Playoffs would be nice this year but that might not be possible depending on the rest of the division. Last year was a missed opportunity with Andrew Luck being out most of the season.

Playoffs. I think the defense will be a bit inconsistent but I think will make strides as the season goes along. Offense should be dynamic and really challenge teams, I expect us to be in the Top 5 offensively (or damn close). Really depends on Blake though and if he can continue to develop. He made great strides last season, let's see if he can continue to improve. If he does we'll be very dangerous.

9 wins - Meets expectations
10 - Great season
11+ - Outstanding, exceeds expectations.

I think we need to calm down. 10 wins coming from 5 wins last season is a big jump.

if we go 7-9 i cant say that i will be mad. the defense need time to get on the same page just like the offense did last season. yea we have the players in place but that don't mean they will play well together. they might need a year. i have no worries about our offense. we will be top 10 maybe even top 5

if they do better I'm all for it, but one thing i learned is to not have huge expectations because you will be let down.

I'm hoping for at least 8-8. If Blake can calm down with his turnovers 10-6

I'd be satisfied at 8-8 but I really hope we can get to 10 wins. I think our D makes the improvement to get us there if we stay healthy. Scoring points wasn't the big problem last year.
