Guessing Semaj is going to play on the SL team.

Don't forget Josh. Well get to see if he's adding anything to his offensive game beyond open dunks.

So, are you all actually excited about Sabonis? I'm not sure I'm seeing it yet.

I have very low expectations for Sabonis. I only expect him to better than his father. He shouldn't start as a rookie, but should earn a rotation spot. I expect him to take over the starting PF spot during his 2nd season.

Some shooter from Oakland University looks like he'll be on the squad, probably just a tryout to see if he can play for the Blue next year

Sabonis is probably unlikely to attend the Summer League. From what I know he's going to join his national team camp in preparation for the Olympic games. Lithuania will be starting their exhibition/preparation games fairly soon, so you'll be able to watch Sabonis play alongside his countryman and Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas.

I think that should be better competition anyway.

Wilbekin I haven't seen being on the SL Roster from any other source, but he did play for Billy so it'd make sense if we gave him a shot

Indeed! And invaluable experience as well.

Lithuanian National Team exhibition game schedule:

June 29th vs New Zealand (I'm assuming he won't be playing in this one since he will probably still be in USA?)
July 1st vs Tunisia (probably not in this either)
July 10th vs Venezuela
July 12th vs Netherlands
July 14th vs Belarus
July 18th vs Spain
July 20th vs Spain
July 25th vs Australia
July 27th vs Argentina
July 30th vs Australia
July 31st vs either China or Brazil

Certainly gives us a reason to watch some non-USA games at the Olympics! Didn't follow qualifying too closely, but won't Lithuania be a strong contender to medal? And is Sabonis expected to get much PT?

Wow, are you sure Sabonis has confirmed he's going to play? That's a surprise for me.

I wouldn't call Lithuania a strong contender, but they definitely have a shot at either a bronze or silver. As far as Sabonis goes, he should definitely make the roster. His playing time will depend on whether Motiejunas (Rockets) will join the team.

Not from anyone else so far, that account likely just made an assumption. Nobody that covers the team has said anything about it so far, likely won't know for certain until early next week.

OKC's summer league games run the 2nd through the 8th so if you are projecting him to miss the games on the 29th and 1st the only "extra" game he might miss would be on the 10th. So it is a matter of playing in five games and learning OKC's system compared to missing 2-3 games for the national team. If he is going to miss the first two games anyway he might as well play through the 8th and he can still fly in and play in game 3 on the 10th.
