My friend texted me two hours ago saying this would happen today.

I didn't believe him.

Makes sense. Orl will probably send Napier and/or a 2nd.

Detroit doesn't have much for cap. Meeks is on an okay deal for a bench player, ~8 million I think. Good shooter.

Or he might be used in an upcoming deal since he's an expiring contract. This is way out of the blue, hoping it's a prelude to something bigger..

Meeks is a good backup shooting guard when he is available to play. He just couldn't stay healthy in Detroit (random injuries) and lost his spot in the rotation. The injuries were sort of "freak" so I wouldn't be surprised if he came back this year and played 75+ games. It's just time to move on.

I'm a big fan of Meeks. He's a great shooter that doesn't get a lot of credit. As long as we aren't giving up anything more than a 2nd rounder and/or Napier, I'm happy with this.

Happy with this, he can shoot and is expiring, I just hope that we have taken away a second pick at most.
