unless wes johnson realizes his potential (hah) i don't really see a better candidate for our starting SF. with blake hopefully recovered to full we should be able to have a top 3 starting five this coming year even with luc's flaws.

with all the time blake had off this previous season, with only basketball activity you can do with a quad injury, would have been shooting. Blake better be a corner 3 assassin this upcoming season. we are gonna need spacing, and offensively more active DJ with better than 50% FT to have a chance. if we can space the floor the way the Warriors do, we should have the upper hand in the middle.

If we ended up using his non-bird rights, then the BAE would be a little better contract to offer for a guy like Dedmon to be our backup C.

If we can bring the same defensive intensity and add Blake to that, we are actual capable of winning 58-60 games this season. This time there's no testing out questionable fits or shuffling around random players and any of that craziness, it's just about health and continuing to build on what the team had before.

he would be a huge defensive liability from two summer league games I have watched of him play, but offensively I think he can be a contributor from the day 1. the real question is, do we need his offensive output in the low post to counter the total lack of defense the second unit of Jamal - Pierce - Stone would bring? I want Brice and Dawson to play but knowing Doc it's gonna be Pierce off the bench as a backup PF at least to start the season. I don't think Austin and Wesley' defense is good enough to overcome that atrocity. but depends on the match up, I think Diamond (btw what do we call him? Dizzy? Diddy? Monty?) can give us an interior offensive presences when needed from our bench.

Yeah but we're going to get the same kind of production from that bench roster as we did the first half of last season, which was atrocious. The only reason our bench started doing better was because of the insertions of Prigioni and Aldrich into the rotation. And now we have neither of those two.

Our bench is going to go back to unstructured iso basketball, with not enough defense to keep other teams from cutting down the leads that our starters create. It's going to be a carbon copy of how our bench played to start the season off last year.

This is going to be one difficult season to watch. SMH

Oh and don't get me started on how this bench unit is going to rebound the ball. Good lord.
