This is probably identical list to mine, though I'm still not sure about 1988 vs 1992 vs 1993. These 3 are extremelly close for me.

How can you rank 1987 over 1997 and 1998 once you factor in Postseason? You can't get better than winning the title and finals mvp when you won league mvp and/or finished 2nd in it already.

It's not like Jordan played poorly in 1987 playoffs...He averaged 36/7/6/2/2 on 53% TS, 28 PER and 10 BPM against elite perimeter defender - Dennis Johnson and the Celtics...That's just as good as what he did in '97 and '98 playoffs, individually. His scoring efficiency was rather low in '87 playoffs, by his standards (right around league-average TS%), but he only played 3 games so it's not a reliable sample size (besides, he had the right to be tired after carrying the Bulls all season, playing 40 minutes per game and playing all 82 games). Everybody knew the Bulls had no chance to beat the Celtics, but it doesn't take anything away from Michael as a player. He played very well and did everything he could to carry his team.

1987 Bulls were the epitome of a "one man team". They had very little talent around MJ, and the only really good player they had other than Mike - Charles Oakley, was primarily a rebounder and defensive player, not really good offensively. So, MJ was the only offensive star on his team, while Bird had four all-star caliber offensive players around him. That's about as lopsided of a matchup as you can get in NBA playoffs. That supporting cast might have been even worse than Kobe's '06 Lakers (even if just because the Bulls had Doug Collins in his rookie head coaching season and the Lakers were coached by 9-time NBA champion with 15 years of head coaching experience).

Put '87 Jordan on '97 or '98 Bulls and they're going to win the title both years, too. Put '97 or '98 MJ on '87 Bulls and they probably would've been a bit worse because the older Mike wouldn't have the stamina to carry a bad team on both ends with so much energy.

There's no way 1985 was that much worse than 1998 and belongs with 2003, 2002, 1986 and 1995...I mean - rookie MJ was already a superstar and top 5 player in the league, and played well against an elite defender like Moncrief in the playoffs.

Same as Q for the first 11, and I don't bother to rank the last 4, so who cares :)

You grouped 1985 with the last four, there's a gap between 10 and 11, so I thought you meant 1985 was that much worse than 1998.
