If you are a Rockets fan and you don't get at least a bit misty-eyed while reading Steve Francis's tribute to Yao Ming, then you might be a robot.

This is from The Player's Tribune. Always some good stuff to be found there.

To this day I remember watching Franchise in that lavender suit, growing more anxious as the Rockets name had yet to be announced again and again. I remember the excitement of the prospect of drafting this 7'6" player from China, wondering if he could live up to the hype. And I remember sports talk radio being full of Rockets fans who either wanted to trade the pick or draft someone else. So many people were nervous about drafting this mysterious Big Man from the Far East. Not me, I couldn't wait!

Steve Francis has his fair share of demons, but he is a guy who always wore his heart on his sleeve. I can only imagine the pride he is feeling seeing his fried - his brother - going into the Hall of Fame.
